OFFICIAL/CONFIRMED: Bradley Fired

Quote:The timing is good. He can say his goodbyes and make peace with all the players that played for him in a neutral forum (outside of the stadium) It needed to be done,Old Yeller time indeed.

Think they have his crap boxed up already and will be escorted by security guards to get it?

I always felt Marrone should have been given adequate time as an interim coach to see what he could do with the team. With the weak division, it was there for the taking.

Quote:So, an owner who was praised for his loyalty not wanting to fire a guy mid-season fires his coach on the road before getting on the team charter with 2 games left with nothing to play for.

Not quite sure what Khan's thinking was on this as it pertains to his perceived loyalty.
He's thinking about getting a start on the coaching search.  He's thinking about changing the morale of the good players on the roster.  He's thinking about trying to a win.

Well most of us have wanted and waited for this moment to come. We knew it would, but this blows me away that it happened at an away game before the team gets home to Jacksonville.

Not going to get into semantics of how this was done because it had to, but WOW!

Fresh start this week, fresh practice, fresh everything........another new beginning.

With 2 games left? SHould have been done a long time ago when there was still time to make a difference. The 2 week jump on a HC does absolutely nothing

Awkward
Whether someone has a liberal, or conservative viewpoint, a authoritative figure should not lock a thread for the sole purpose to get the last word in all the while prohibiting someone else from being able to respond.

Just curious, why? What does it matter?

I think the delay in naming an interim (like Marrone) likely means that Coughlin is the interim. He will evaluate for last 2 games, and then become President of Football Operations.

Quote:He's still getting paid. Relaxing with his family over the holidays is good advice.

I would expect Marrone to get the interim tag tomorrow if it hasn't happened already.

Gus..you're fired. Here's your check for the rest of the year so you can enjoy Christmas....lol

With two games left it was inevitable and had to happen. Before even getting home and a week before Christmas? Harsh. It shoulda happened long ago, so now the timing is off.

Think things will change with meathead at QB?

Don't misconstrue my thoughts as it was wrong. It was just way too late, and like fencing the yard after the cows have run off.

QB problems are a bigger issue imo.

Here come changes. Change we can believe in. Right?

In can't get worse anyway.

I believe most of us already knew that and it definitely showed on game day.

Gus is a super nice guy and it turns out he was just too nice to be a successful HC, at least during his first Head Coaching job.

I survived the Gus Bradley Error.

Word is, he tried to forward the playbook to other teams from his Surface Pro and it went to spam.

Quote:I can't believe there are actually people in here complaining about firing Bradley after today's loss, his 12th of the season.

What does it matter if it is after today's loss or in 2 weeks? It was going to happen regardless. Would the next 2 weeks really make any difference?

Gus will be fine, stop complaining, you complainers sound like Jdub.

My issue is it should have been done after the Titans game. Regardless, this makes today feel like a win.

It would not have mattered, we need a new system, new foundation, Gus stuff would have still been here, new coach needs to build it up over the offseason

because, its usually somebody the team respects a lot

If its not Marrone then its a reason he wasnt given the job earlier, he may not be as respected

I suspect that Gus is going thru the plane and thanking the players individually for the efforts.  He may be a bad coach but he's a good guy. I wish him the best.  I always felt he might be better suited as a College Head Coach.

For those stock traders out there I would sell baskin robins and Ben and Jerrys short.

Who fired Gus Bradley? Shahid Khan or David Caldwell?
