Thanks for the link,, does it matter when he was fired? we all knew eventually it would happen why try to make a big story out of a non story. I just hope we find a good coach to get the most out of these players

Quote:Today's game got Khan's hopes up?

The body of work plus good judgment clearly showed that Bradley was not fit to be an NFL HC which was evident as early as the end of his first season.

For an owner to be swaying from game to game at this point shows me he lacks the leadership and judgment necessary to build a winning team. If this is true, this is greatly concerning.

There IS logic as to why he was fired today, imo.

First, the obvious that's already been mentioned... Khan having rode the rollercoaster of hope building through a 20-8 lead, followed by yet another collapse.

More likely to me, however, are the following...

Going into this season, Khan made it clear he expected better.

By losing today, the best the Jags can do is 4 wins. Last season we went 5-11. This loss guaranteed we could not match last years record.

Additionally, we just broke a franchise record with 9 consecutive losses. Perhaps that was simply one negative record too many.

Fisher has already been fired. Rex is on his way out as well. I think, and I may be wrong, but I do think that Caldwell finally got through to Khan that waiting was not going to add anything positive, and was only going to slow down the process of finding the replacement.

He should have been fired ages ago.....The LA situation forced their hand to move faster than they wanted.

What's really sad is if the interim coach pulls 2 wins out of their hat they will already be 1/7th of the way to the victory total for Bradley.

Sad thing is we can probably win the last two games with average coaching. We beat Indy already.

Wondering if the Jags primary target for next head coach is the same as the Rams and maybe the Jags got wind of the Rams already being in early stages of negotiating a contract with said target this past week. Why else would you not wait until Monday morning on the Bradley fire?

It's obviously what happened.

I mean...They fired him 1800 miles away from Jacksonville. Where he u know...Lives?

Soooooooooo...Did Gus ...Take the plane home with the team?

Akward???

Ummm. Did he....Take another flight?

This was as knee jerk as knee jerk gets.

Absolutely disrespectful to fire a coach 1800 miles from home.

Just like throwing him off of the plane to me.

Yeah I'm sure he'll have many sleepless nights on that pile of cash he got from being the worst head coach in the modern era.

For what it's worth, 1800 miles is close to the round trip from the two cities.

How many NFL Head Coaches would have had the opportunity to continue in that role after going 14-47 in their first 61 games? Or even come close to having as much of an opportunity as Gus Bradley?

Honestly I don't get how today was any different than any other game the past two years. I don't care how nice he is, he blew it last year and they let him get in excuses for not having his defense. They wasted the fans goodwill this year. Gus never prepared his teams and had Crayola game plans.

The whole hate just to place blame on the next is ridiculous. Dave is not part of the problem. He has drafted very well. Missed on Blake. But he was very promising at the time. So not like he was predicted to be a third rounder and reached for him.

Dave has gotten so many great gems yet he must go? And replace with who exactly? Who is out there with better picks? Khan must sell team? After investing to bring state of the art things to Jax not possible by any other owner. And now he is a bum why?

Imagine none of the upgrades or the future plans. How would you feel then?

Gus I agree should of never been given an extension. However one could easily argue if you don't have a defense. That is not a fair evaluation to win. Well he had that chance and blew it. And had Fisher not been fired then bradley would of been here till end of season.

However with fisher fired. The whole status quo of waiting was pointless. If they want to bring in the best. They have to show the Nfl need someone now. And waiting would of had more competition and a lot more uncertainty.

Kahn was so satisfied firing Gus that he turned the plane around and fired him again!

No, Khan did not want to fire Bradley. He and everyone else around the organization very much wanted Bradley to work. They wanted his approach to work. The players sure wanted it to work.

Bradley’s 14-48 record will be offered as evidence it did not work, but Bradley was not dismissed Sunday because of 14-48. If overall record was the reason for his dismissal he indeed would have been fired long ago.

But the Jaguars’ 2-12 record and their current nine-game losing streak made it obvious that whatever Khan’s belief in Bradley that a coaching change was coming.

So basically if Gus had managed to pick up a few meaningless wins, Gus would have been back next year? They were looking for positive signs in the darn tea leafs. I really, really, hope this is explained better Monday. What an absolute waste of the 2016 football season.

Oh please let them hire someone that can turn it around very quickly instead of finding out another 4 years later that it didnt.

That is absolutely the truth.

I KNEW he would be back next year if he won a few of the last games...I even made an entire thread about it.

Dave is safe.
