Caldwell Presser Notes Live

Quote:I do not.  The man is 70 years old.  That is like saying WU Tang Clan or Onyz style be still relevant today.   Things change.  And need a guy who is younger and has a proven track record.  Tom would be a stop gap coach.  Cause I can't see a coach 70 playing 5-10 more seasons.

Age at some point has to come into play.  If he was 60 be different then 70 or  if he was 50.

How many things changed since 2015? Not much.

Quote:Regardless if he won or lost, he was fired.

I agree. That's weird.
If he won they would prob gave him until the end of the year, sounds like he was gonna be fired after the season but the melt down did him in.

At this point, I seriously think it's Marvin Lewis, Payton or Coughlin.
Those guys are my top 3, add in Mike Smith former HC with some success, and has worked with Dave in ATL

I do hope Khan does call Harbaugh and offer a boat load of money, Harbaugh is one coach that can turn a team around in a hurry, 49ers and Stanford were a mess when he got to those places.

Article on CBS Sports discusses the asking price from the Saints coming down.  They have major cash problems.  I would expect the La La Rams to be more on track for that plan.  Kroenke is a weasel.

And went down hill since 12.  So five years later gonna lead the Jaguars to superbowl?   I love Tom, but this is not the right time for him.

I am all for at least interviewing Mike Smith for the HC job. He should be a leading candidate after the Buccaneers play their last game. There is no chance Jim Harbaugh will leave Michigan.

Quote:I wouldn't trade a 1st Rd pick for a coach unless their last name starts with Beli and ends with chick........... 2nd rd, there's more options.
I'd trade a whole drafts worth of picks for Bill.

I certainly wouldn't looking at how he left the 9ers.

John, not Jim, is the NFL coach you want of the two (but he's not going anywhere, either.)

I wouldn't.

What lies behind us, and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.

Quote:Because a guy who hasn't taken a snap since the preseason, and probably hasn't even gotten more than a handful of reps is magically going to win something? Seriously, at this point, winning is irrelevant, and it's silly to think Allen is this magic bullet.

It worked pretty well for Tom Savage yesterday.

Apparently Coughlin tried to join the coaching staff when Gus was still here.
