Interim head coaches seem to always get an interview by their current teams just because. Mike Mularkey is the only one I can think of who was named the permanent HC unless I am forgetting somebody.

 

  Rick Forzano, Tommy Hudspeth and Wayne Fontes certainly comes to mind as Interim HCs who became  regular HCs after the respective seasons.  Fontes lasted 8 full seasons,  the other 2 much less.
