A Christmas Story

Die Hard

"What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? I, who was born in a naked land and bred in the open sky. The subtle tongue, the sophist guile, they fail when the broadswords sing; Rush in and die, dogs - I was a man before I was a king."

My two faves as well.

I tend to agree that it's not a Christmas movie, but the various networks run the crap out of it every Christmas in recent years.

Home Alone 1 & 2 is a Christmas tradition in the HolsterHusto household. Movies 3 & 4 are never to be spoken of...

They had Christmas in The Godfather, so I'd say, The Godfather.

I've prepared a (non exclusive) list:

The Ref

Love Actually

Christmas Vacation

Just Friends

Die Hard

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

I love Just Friends, but I really don't consider that a Christmas movie.

My niece and nephew love Elf. They make me watch it every Christmas.

That's fine. You can have your wrong opinion all you want.

When Dusty Dinkelman picks up his acoustic, it is Christmas every day.

Apparently not.

i identify with so many things in A Christmas Story, plus it was based on the semi-autobiographical short stories and anecdotes of the movie's narrator, the late Jean Shepherd, of whom I'm a fan.

When someone was mad at me and made me go to Cleveland for a week for work, I visited the Christmas Story house. It was cool, but I was pained to find out it was only used for street shots and the rest was filmed in Canada.

A little more info than you want, the guy who bought the house was actually next door neighbors with my cousin in California and got tired of it and moved to Jacksonville. His investment in the Christmas Story house and leg lamp sales have got him an estate in Glen Kernan, so the gettin' is good!
