Got anything else to add? Or is that all you had to say in your condescending snarky remark?

Ill post whatever I want, when I want and how I want as long as I stay in the rules of the forum. Theres nothing you can say or do to stop that. I noticed you dont like my long posts, well, I dont post very much and when I do, I try to make it as thought out as possible. If if offends you, bothers you and irritates you, skip over it move on with your day. You are not the message board police, your opinion isn't more worthy than others. We all are jaguars fans who want whats best for the team. I will continue to voice my opinion whether you like it our not.

Back on point. The Jaguars should hire Tom Coughlin. I think at this very moment, with Caldwell in his last year of his deal on a short leash with a team that has talent and a team desperate in need of coaching and discipline and a winning culture, Tom Coughlin is the perfect candidate right now.

And I will disagree for $100.  Reason being,  he has not produced a winning season since 2012.   So if you are saying Tom is the hottest out there.   Can we get substance to back that.  Or just talk?   Hi I am Teal Time aka ctjags.   Nice to meet you.

He was in NY a long time. Sometimes being in a place for such a long period of time your voice isn't heard as well. When your with a team that long sometimes a change of scenery is needed.

To act like Coughlin isn't a worthy candidate for a young team lacking in discipline that has a losing culture after losing for 9 seasons I think is the wrong route to take. Coughlin would bring a wealth of knowledge, discipline, and a winning culture that this team hasn't had in a long time.

I was disagreeing with that one guy because he thinks my posts are too long. And hes rude and snarky about it.

As far as Coughlin, hes got two super bowls, has deep roots in Jacksonville and wants one more shot at coaching. Caldwell absolutely needs to win now and has a very short leash. Needs to get discipline and a winning culture installed. Will this move guarantee the playoffs? No, but I can promise you, the talent will be coached and we will compete. Something the Jaguars haven't done in a  decade.

I would welcome Tom back with open arms.  However,  I would not expect a playoff run off tom alone.  Axl Rose was a great singer when GNR started and though he never stopped singing.  His voice got worse with age.  Coughlin was a heck of a coach back in late 90's.   And if it wasn't for tincans stealing playbook. would of no doubt made it to superbowl and probaly won.   Yes he won 2 times with giants.

Believe last time in 2011  But since has missed the playoffs.  And while he is a fan favorite and well respected here.  It would highly depend on his new staff as well.   And sometimes trying to relive the past back fires.  And would love for us to try something new.  Rather then rehashing old formulas.

Tom will not make Blake into an Elite qb that is for sure.

Coughlin has been coaching in the present. Its not like he took 10 years off like Joe Gibbs than came back. Hes up to date, he has changed his philosophy and changing his philosophy won him a Super Bowl. Your right, it wouldn't guarantee a playoff spot but I can promise you this team will be in the hunt competing till the end. Thats a hell of a lot better than cleaning house, ripping the foundation up and brining in an unexperienced head coach.

To add a bit more to it if you go with it being about familiarity Khan, Tony and Lamping were no more familiar with Gus then Dave was.

So doesn't that kinda make being familiar with him a wash? Thus making what Dave said about not being comfortable with him about fit and not familiarity?

I know Alfie has been drumming up McDaniels and yes, it would be nice, hes a great offensive coach, but its unlikely he comes. He probably wont be able to be hired till the very end of January and he also has a sweet gig right now. He would need a lot of persuasion to want to give up being the Patriots Offensive Coordinator.

Gus made a great sales pitch and vision and Khan gushed.

Negative and a huge mistake.  If you look at Denver's run.    The Defense kept them in games.  Not the offense.  fakebow through three quarters was worse off then blake ever was.  So I am not sold on McDaniel's.  Just because he is in NE, does not mean he is a huge contributor to NE success.

That team lies all on Brady.

Thats what I think is well. Some of the media has even talked about how Khan really didn't want to fire him even after the losses.

I think he let love for the person blind him on that person's ability to coach.

In my opinion it's a big reason why Dave wasn't fired.

Very good point. I know he didnt have a good run with Denver but to my point, even if we were interested in him, theres a good chance we are waiting till the very end of January. I actually like the idea of Todd Haley. I think hes a solid coach. I would like to see him get an interview.

No Dave wasn't fired. Cause of Telvins and Ramseys performance lately.  Along with Lee coming around.  And of course Yannick.

My brother is a huge Broncos fan so I'm more familiar with them then I care to be and he was awful for the Broncos. He destroyed that roster in 2 years and it was pretty solid up to that point.

Dave's words:

"...not that I wasn't comfortable with him [Gus], but... but I had no prior experience with Gus.  I had no prior relationship with Gus."

"You do your own thing in your own time. You should be proud."

I honestly disagree he's not likely to come.

The Jaguars have a TON of POTENTIAL (it needs to be developed, but we're seeing a top 10 unit playing with basically 3 rookie starts, two of whom are edge rushers which makes it even more impressive) on defense and 3 WR's that have shown to be above average. You got your LT for the next several years in Beachum, same with Linder at C.

This team can have a quick turnaround if we can get average QB play and they get the young guys coached up.

Plus, McDaniels went to college with Dave Caldwell. I know that was the same with Roman and we didn't hire him but familiarity and knowing each other should increase our chances.

McDaniels isn't my top guy but I'd welcome him with open arms. He seems to have learned from his past mistakes. He's a bit more risky than some others but I'd rather him than a guy like Shanahan (who I also like, but not in our situation) who has no HC exp.

I like the idea as well but dont get your hopes up. The biggest obstacle is that fact the Patriots are likely to be in a deep playoff run. The Jaguars are not waiting till the end of January for one guy.

Oh of course that's why I said a big reason why not the only reason why.

I get everyone being upset with his first draft and bortles but this roster is far more talented then when he started, and in fairness the pool of prospects his first year was trash.

So Rich Kotite 2.0 I will pass.  What he did and gutted the Eagles was unbelievable.
