Caldwell Presser Notes Live

Worked out well for Tampa-they got a Super Bowl win out of it.

If Khan forced Caldwell to keep Bradley then we may have problems down the line with him.

They would have gotten that SB no matter who was coaching.

That D was ridiculous.

I'm pretty sure of this as well. Dungy built a strong team and was a huge factor in putting the Colts over the top.

Dungy couldn't get it done in 6 seasons.

That defense wasn't built in 1 season, although the talent was there.

Gruden won't come back and tarnish his legend because he knows it was gifted to him in the first place. Dungy would've got there I think. I think Dungy is a better coach, too.

Just saying that they had a hall of fame coach and lost in the playoffs 4 out of 6 seasons. The trade worked out for them.

Dungy owes his SB to Fivehead, he couldn't coach offense to save his life.

Dungy and Gruden, IMO, benefited from a change of scenery.  I believe their road would have been longer (if they ever arrived) had they stayed with their respective teams (Gruden in Oak, Dungy at TB.)

Along those lines, that's why I wouldn't mind a guy like Marvin Lewis.  I think he could have that type of success here, where he's stalled a bit in Cincy.

"You" is not Tampa.

Maybe, maybe not.

NFL history is replete with "ridiculous" defenses that didn't win anything.

Yes, that defense was amazing.  But the fact is, they didn't reach the Super Bowl until Gruden got there..

Do you know anything about the 2000 Ravens, 2013 Seahawks, and 2015 Broncos?

If you do, it is they had elite defenses and were not as good on offense as some Super Bowl losers.

Read his whole statement before you come in with your text vomit. You missed his point, which isn't surprising at all considering the source.
You either die as a good poster, or live long enough to become the troll.

Quote:Because we dont know the circumstances over the Bradley retention last year.

In retrospect, look at the free agent signings of Jackson, Amukamara, and Gipson on defense. They fit with pretty much every defensive scheme. Jack and Day didn't fit Gus' scheme very well. Vernon is more of a standard 4-3 DE than a LEO. Caldwell passed on Irvin who was a classic OTTO.

I think Caldwell was already planning on a new coach when he made those signings.

Interesting to think about.

I'm personally excited to see what Gip does under a new staff down here. Didn't have an ideal year that we expected, but no one really did except for Telvin/Malik/Ramsey. I mean, our pass defense is top 5, so he had to have some solid level of impact. Just not with turnovers.
