That said, I kinda want to see it happen. I do think Gus is a better DC than HC and maybe he could help with our recruiting.

I think he is an immensely better fit as a college DC than a NFL head coach.

Gus as a DC for FL would be a nice hire imo. He was a terrible head coach, that doesn't make him a bad coach. There's a lot who just aren't cut out to be a HC and is one of them.

He was the DC under Pete Carroll, yet Florida is too good for him? Come on...

I literally could be a defensive coordinator with the likes of Earl Thomas, Chancellor, Sherman, and Wagner.

Agreed.  He's actually a really good fit for the college game with his coaching approach.

lol ... sure you could. Do you know what the word literally means?

I mean, we all watch football on television - thus, we are more than qualified to be an NFL head coach or coordinator.

(Some people actually believe this).

I actually thought about this when he got fired last week. I think he would be an excellent recruiter. His personality is perfect for the college kids on the recruiting trail, and on the field. He knows defense and would be a great fit.

I would love it. I think he would make them a powerhouse.

He may not be a good HC, but he is a darn good coordinator and motivator.

I think he'd be great as the Gators' defensive coordinator, for all the aforementioned reasons.   He'd be a great recruiter, and he has been a successful NFL defensive coordinator.
