Marcedes Lewis

Quote:If you laugh at him, then you laugh at Marcedes, whos no better, just makes TONS more money.

Oh, no I'm laughing at you.

Pettigrew is on IR and is coming off a terrible season. He's easily a downgrade at the position.

Quote:"He's been one of the primary culprits for a Lions receiving corps that has been among the league leaders in drops the past few seasons.

Billed as a prototypical in-line tight end at 6-foot-6 and 265 pounds, Pettigrew also struggled as a run blocker."

So he struggles catching passes AND blocking. For all his struggles holding on to passes, Marcedes has always excelled as a blocker.

No, LOL he's not. You just overrate Marcedes and convince yourself how great Marcedes is.

In truth, Pettigrew and Marcedes are both average. One is just paid like he's good.

Marcedes sucked as a blocker last season, and early this season. per most accounts.

So no, Marcedes hasn't "always" excelled as a blocker. Marcedes luver.

Pettigrew will get at least 4.5mil per year on the market and that is the money we would save by cutting Lewis. Why make the move?

Stop putting words in my mouth. I've said repeatedly that he isn't as good as his ridiculous salary.

If so, then just draft someone for TE, or try to find a Sen Derrick Marks type FA at the position. i.e. under the radar player that overproduces for peanuts.

What a fall from grace for Pettigrew.

From being mentioned with Jimmy Graham to average in just one afternoon.

I never said he was the ability level of Graham. One asked who were players that were potential FA or draft picks that could give you what Marcedes will (or better).

If you thought I was saying that Pettigrew was as good or anywhere near Graham, thats you assuming or putting words in my mouth. Theres no one near Graham;s ability right now ----

.....but he's not a great blockor sew sum Jagwires fanz frum this bored probeblee wouldnent like him.

Which brings us to my earlier question.... Do you really think the Jaguars should be using their 1st/2nd round pick on a TE rather than QB/O-Line/D-Line?

If the Jags could get a Jace Amaro/ Ebron type with their 2nd rounder, I'd do that.

You could address interior OL with FA with Asomoah and Mack. DL with Orakpo.

I doubt Mack is going anywhere now.

If either one of those players fell to pick 35 I'd be shocked.

I think he's a good receiver I don't think he'll ever be the guy but IMO he's a nice piece to move around the field

Why are you hell bent on creating another hole on a roster that has plenty already. We have so many spots to fill so the last thing we should be doing is creating another one.Lewis is a serviceable TE at worst and a very good one at his best.

I would love Ebron or Amaro but they wont be there in round 2 and besides that we have many other needs to worry about first.

As far as your FA's listed here go-that would be great if we got those 3 guys but this is not Madden.I would be happy if we got 1 of those 3.We arent the only team with a ton of salary cap and glaring needs.

He hates Lewis with a passion. It's so embarrassing.
