Is there any reason other than being a Jaguar Ramsey woulnd't win DROY?

Quote:Maybe your right but I think it's silly to just write Ramsey off like he has no chance.

Ramsey has been good but he hasn't made the "flash plays" often enough like he did today.  The pick 6's and INTs are what he needs to get national recognition on this team and he simply hasn't had enough of those.  It's not to say he's not a good player or he hasn't had a good rookie year but 9.5 sacks in 11 games as a rookie is going to stand out.  2 INTs is not.

Corner is harder to rack up stats and highlight film. If you're going to throw the ball at the Jacksonville D, who would you throw at, Ramsey or Amukamura? Easy choice. Ramsey has lined up each week against the opponents best receiver. Go down the box scores for the year and look for their #1 receiver and his yardage. Outside of week 2 travis benjamin (not totally sure ramsey even covered him) nobody has topped 100 yards.

Jordy Nelson: 32 yards

Steve Smith: 87 yards(basically NONE after halftime)

TY Hilton: 42yards

Alshon Jeffrey: 93

Amari Cooper: 29

Maclin: 0

D. Hopkins: 48

Golden Tate: 27

S. Watkins: 80

E. Sanders: 28

S. Diggs: 55

R. Matthews: 31

He isn't Revis Island status yet but measuring him against the leagues #1 wideouts and he appears to be excellent. Rookie corners struggle usually, even good ones. Bosa looks great too, don't get me wrong, but I give the nod to Ramsey. He is quickly turning into that guy that you don't throw the ball near.

Calling Deshawn Watson a future bust since 3/19/17. If I eat crow, I will keep this in here and proclaim JackCity a genius.

Did I say Bosa would win it?

Bosa has been awesome this year no doubt. I think Ramsey will win it though not only because he deserves it but because he's publicised frequently for the trash tralking.

Hands down the best jags rookie ever though.

Quote:Lol at Ramsey only making plays the last two weeks. He's made plays all season and taken it to any even higher level the last 2 weeks.

Ramsey losing the award to Bosa would be the same as MJD losing it to Vince Young.

I said big plays.

Ramsey is a CB. Ints are the big plays at his position that get attention. He got his first last week.

Whether you like it or not, it will affect his votes. That's just the way these things work.

Truthfully the best thing you would want from your top CB is to almost never hear his name. And hopefully the reason is because he has completely locked down his guy and the QB never throws his way all game. Someone like this would have very little "stats" that the fans drool over, but yet is playing absolutely dominant.

You clearly don't know a thing about football. You don't have to make a turnover to have a "flash play" which he's made a ton of this year.

example: 4th down for the bears, alshon runs a quick slant he's behind him and burst up to the ball and bats it down.

A chunk of those yards Watkins got was against Amukamarinara sauce.

Interceptions are difficult to get when no one throws your way. Ramsey has controlled and dominated some of the best receivers in the NFL in a time when it's near impossible to do that consistently. Bosa has the numbers, but Ramsey is the best rookie defender this year.

You obviously don't understand how this voting thing works.

Batting the ball to the ground doesn't get you on the highlight reels.

ROTY is stat and highlight reel driven. If Ramsey had some ints earlier in the year he would be getting a lot more attention now. It has nothing to do with him being a Jag.

Luke Kuechly was DROY in 2012 with 2 ints and 1 ff no sacks

Well... You are comparing a line backer to a defensive back. And that line backer, when he won the DROY, was the league's leading tackler that season. That stat probably had more to do with it than his pass defense numbers.

Not saying Ramsey shouldn't get it, just saying your using the wrong stats to prove your point.

Because making a tackle is a "flashy" play?

lmao any team with an offense that poor could have a league leading tackler.

You going to keep pretending that leading the league in tackling comes with having your defense on the field all game because your offense sucks?

Yannick - 7 sacks - 4 ff - interception

lol bro

He has way more pressures and plays the run.

Ramsey has probably been defensive rookie of the month, but he was too far behind Bosa, Deion Jones, and Keanu Neal for a few splash games this late in the season to boost him above those 3 guys who have been excellent all year.

Vince Young had 9 tds and 17 ints and won OROTY over MJD, and I'm still butt hurt about it. Let me repeat that. 9 tds and 17 ints. 17 ints. 17 of them.

[BLEEP] the NFL. Ramsey doesn't stand a chance.

I love Ramsey and Im glad to see him get the flashy stats(specially that pick six today) but I just dont think he'll beat Bosa. Bosa played in less games and has been a pretty solid player. Given they play different roles which also matters alot IMO.

Would love to see Ramsey win it some how tho.
