2017 Draft Order

#1

So if I'm looking at this correctly, the order is:

1. Cleveland

2. San Francisco

3. Chicago

4. Jacksonville

5. Tennessee (from Los Angeles)

Correct?  Guessing Garrett and Allen get picked before us.  McDowell or Fournette seems like two logical choices IMO.

Williams

Barnett

Hooker

Adams

Cook

Should be the options. Only way we draft McDowell is if we move to a 3-4 and Cook > Fournette.

Ideally trade back.

If not, Adams or Cook.

Seems to me at this way early stage, Tennessee needs a WR and a CB.  Mike Williams would be a great fit for them.   I think that any team wanting Williams would have to be willing to trade with us.

The top 10 looks something like this....

1 Cleveland 1-15 .548 2 San Francisco 2-14 .504 3 Chicago 3-13 .519 4 Jacksonville 3-13 .529 5 Tennessee (from LA Rams) 4-12 .500 6 NY Jets 5-11 .519 7 San Diego 5-11 .546 8 Carolina 6-10 .515 9 Cincinnati 6-9-1 .527 10 Cleveland 7-9 .481

Not too many below Tennessee that seems to have a gaping hole at WR that is within reasonable trade range.  Maybe San Diego.

Good point that we aren't sure what our base defense will be. I think McDowell is as good of a prospect as Allen, but he's likely a 3-4 DE

I'd be shocked if we took a WR with the 5th pick. Maybe at 19 or maybe we trade the 5th and move down or maybe we go WR in the second. We also have $70M in cap space so there's always free agency. What we do in free agency will obviously determine what we do in the draft. Berry will be a top target if the Chiefs let him walk.

Ordinarily, I would put Tennessee with a CB at 5 given their needs.

But I think Williams is a better prospect at WR than anyone is at CB....at least at this stage.

Logic says yes but let's hope go crazy for the QB's again and one of those guys drops to us. Ramsey should have never dropped to 5th last year

I think we go pass rusher or LB with the first pick

Tim Williams would make a ton of sense for you guys at 5 and then maybe best CB available at 19. Combined with a big time FA like berry or Alshon, thats a comeup.

I think the Titans are drafting Adams or Hooker at 5 without question.

Apparently Hooker is likely going pro. If that's the case, will be a damn good battle of him v. Adams as the top safety. At 4, I think we are likely going to end up grabbing a DL whether that is Allen, Garrett, Barnett, or TWill...but either of those safeties are appealing. Just not sure I see us taking one of them over the DL/OLB (if 3-4) guys I mentioned.

I'd take Hooker over Adams if it came down to that.

So then you guys aren't happy with Dodd, or is this from the "you can't have enough pass rushers" file, or BAP?
