I would say that, in the court of public opinion (the poll), you failed to present a compelling case for your opinion.

Quote:I think Khan stepped in and fired Bradley.
That's possible and if so, he's a fool for waiting for so long.

I think Khan finally relented and let Caldwell fire Bradley.

And I have just as much evidence for my opinion... :teehee:

Hence the "that is possible" part of my comment. No one really knows. It's the offseason, time to speculate and drive ourselves and each other crazy!

I definitely think Khan stepped in and had Bradley fired. And it should have been done after The Thursday Night disaster.

Did you also not hear the part of the presser in which Dave said that the Rams' firing of Fisher forced their hand a bit - and they needed to move so that they wouldn't be a step behind another team in the search process?

Yet another reason why it doesn't sound like your super "hands-off" guy Khan "stepping in."

Caldwell is making these decisions with Khan and Khan is holding the purse strings. I'm not sure why the dynamics of that relationship seem so odd to you.

We'll probably never know if Dave was ready to move on from Gus after the bye, or after the Thursday night debacle, but your "definitely thinking" it was Khan all by himself pulling the trigger way too late doesn't change anything.

It should have been done earlier and we'll probably never know which of those two was "more responsible" for keeping Gus around too long.

I dont think we disagree on Khan stepping in and getting things done. My whole point yesterday was, Dave Caldwell is/was in charge of football operations since he was hired. Meaning, head coach search, drafting and signing players. I completely agree Khan probably forced Daves hand in firing Bradley.

I never said that. You did.

I actually disagree completely with that.

I think they  had no choice once LA fired their coach.  They had decided together to let gus finish the year in preseason but the record and the rams firing gave them no choice but to give up early.  (should have given up earlier)

Quote:This is honestly hilarious.

He keeps saying he wants facts when he is making all these close minded assumptions about how Shad runs this team without any evidence himself. What is happening right now? Like seriously.

This is so true. People say "I want facts" like they are statistics. Then they substitute their own inference and interpretation as "their own" facts.

And complaining that a press conference contains "coach speak" is just dumb, especially when it comes to Caldwell, who is about as open as it gets, but is still an NFL executive, who is going to reveal a whole lot of as little as possible.

But thats under the assumption that was the sole reason that he was fired. You dont think losing 9 games in a row was enough for the higher ups to say enough? I mean I get that the Rams firing Fischer played their hand, I just feel the Jags were doing what was probably right and had been coming for a while.

I clearly stated the word "record" in the post you quoted.

I understand that. Im just saying I feel like losing 9 in a row and being 14-48 was a big factor in the decision, not just the Rams firing Jeff Fischer.

That's what I said.  14-48 is the record. I said the record and the rams firing forced their hand.

Spinning wheels here.... I'll move on.

Well, Caldwell will stay and hopefully, a good head coach is brought in who can turn the team around quickly.

It was never in doubt.

But seven pages of denial was super-fun, right?

Gus was fired because of the record. The timing was because of the Rams.

Theres nothing wrong with having discussion about a topic that yes, the gm did deserve scrutiny, and yes, even by some of the media, there was some doubt ( little) that Caldwell would make it next season. Obviously, he is here and will be here an Im happy for Dave, who I was a staunch fan of. I just felt like it was a good discussion to have since they team has been terrible.

Obviously, the majority of the fans agree he deserves one more chance. Not only that, but Shad Khan believes that too.

I was just attempting humor with that comment.  We've hashed it out pretty thoroughly , and yes he deserved scrutiny.
