Tim Williams

#1

Now that the NFL season is over, I'm starting to go and look at game film of all the blue chip prospects we could be interested in on DraftBreakdown. I've started watching some games on Tim Williams and I've come away fairly impressed. He's pretty slight of build, similar to Vic Beasley, but he definitely has some serious talent.

2nd best pure pass rusher in the class behind Garrett. Only knock on him is his size

If the team keeps Fowler at DE, and it's likely they will, I think Williams would be an excellent pick as an OLB. Williams, Jack, and Smith will do. Poz still has gas in the tank but his time as a Jag would seem to be short.

If anything Fowler would be the one that would move to LB, Tim is a far superior pass rusher than anything else. Putting him in a position where hes only rushing sometimes would be a wild misuse of his talent.

I totally agree about playing a player at their best position. I just wouldn't want a guy like Williams getting manhandled by NFL tackles.

Looks just like Bruce Irvin when he was coming out

Would be best utilized as a 3-4 OLB. Wade Phillips would know what to with him as he reminds me of Shane Ray.

I like him as a DE. He's strong enough and good enough against the run

Pass. Get an elite guy out of Garrett allen or hooker. If those three are gone I say you have to try to trade down

People are wanting him at the #4 spot?  Not sure I see a top 5 guy here, that'd be a reach IMO.

With nearly 4 months until the draft, it looks like the Jaguars will have several good options. There are strong cases to be made for the following:

1. Jonathan Allen- Great college player who should be a difference maker regardless of how he is utilized on the defensive line.

2. Malik Hooker- Could possibly be the best player who comes out of this draft. If they think he's the next Ed Reed, take him and cut your losses with Gipson.

3. Jamal Adams- Cyprien may be gone to a team that will overpay him and Adams is a much more complete player. In this scenerio, they keep Gipson and hope he

plays like the guy who made the pro bowl in Cleveland.

4. Tim Williams-  2nd best pass-rusher after Garrett, although may be too small as a defensive end.

5. Derek Barnett- Very productive pass rusher, but will this translate to the NFL.

This list does not include any offensive linemen, quarterbacks or running backs since the value would not be there, although there's no denying the talent of Cook and Fournette.

Caldwell will have a very tough choice, including possibly trading back a little if he feels one of these guys will still be on the board. The best chance for this is if two quarterbacks emerge following the combine and personal workouts and only one of those is taken before the Jaguars' pick. This would enable the Jags to get an extra 2nd rounder at the least.  I would love to see this happen with the choices being:

Rd. 1  (still top 10 pick)- Jamal Adams

Rd. 2 : Dan Feeney (or Elflein from Ohio State) and Pat Mahomes

Rd. 3: Taylor Moten or best tackle available.

I love that draft, except for the Mahomes pick. Exchange him for the best available RB. I wanna wait until 2018, before spending a high pick on a QB.

I rather go after Demarcus Walker in the 2nd if he is there. Jon Allen/D'onta Freeman or Fournette or Cook/ Demarcus Walker combo.

Fournette or Cook and Walker would be the current leading candidate for my nightmare scenario this year.

Walker is a DE in roster listing only. He played DT more often than Jon Allen did.
