IMO I think Johnathan Allen would be a very underwhelming pick. Where would he play?

I agree. Probably should take Hooker or Fournette. Or better yet trade down to the 18th pick and take OL players like Ramczyk and Robison and then with your new found second round pick take another OL player Big Grin.

Jonathan Allen is the best player in the draft. You find somewhere to play him. Or move to a 3-4 D. He is the type of player you build a defense around.

He is though.

I have a gut feeling that Mitch Trubisky is going to stay in school.

I would love Allen to be there at 4 but I doubt it. If he's there he's the pick.

Didn't people say the same thing about Leonard Williams?

He is a stud and would make an immediate impact.

Jonathan Allen is 2x the player Leonard Williams was. He is on the level of Aaron Donald and Sun as a prospect.

I totally agree.

But when the Jets drafted Leonard they said "well where is he going to play? They got Sheldon and Wilkerson."

Allen is so good that he can play multiple positions.

Allen is a beast. Find room on that defense and play him

Malik-Abry-Allen

People are afraid of DE's that weigh over 250 and don't run 4.5

Williams would have been a fantastic 3 Technique here, you wouldn't need Jackson or you still sign Jackson and maybe this year you add Poe or Allen could play the 1 tech ver well I think

5 Tech  - Jackson

1/3 Tech - Allen

3/5 Tech - Williams

Smith

Poz

Jack/Skuta

Yannick/Jack

That's a pretty nasty front 7

Yeah, I remember people talking about tanking for Watson. I could see him taking a hard fall out of the first round much like Geno Smith did to round 3 or 4 if nobody bites. I posted in another thread about the QB's being over drafted to our advantage of trading back. This is a weak class, Watson, Kizer and really all of them have poor mechanics and are bad decision makers too. These are guys with upside, but truly boom or bust project type players. Watson is not the prospect the media made him out to be last year.

Kizer, Watson and probably Trubisky are better prospects than Goff and Wentz were last year.

I surely hope that getting closer to the draft some QBs start being projected at 1-2-3  so that Allen can be there at 4. Having Malik Jackson and Allen on the same line, just wow, regardless of the scheme.

Wentz is better than all of them. Kizer and Watson are on par with Goff.

Best thing about Allen he is a really safe pick no way he could be a bust. I would prefer to trade back in the draft though.

I'm kind of liking Jamal Adams to replace Cyp. Even though Cyp has played well as of late, I'm liking what I see from this kid. I don't know at #5, but maybe...

But I won't disagree that we have bigger needs than SS right now. So there's that too.
Let's Get Em!!!! Go Jags!
