Should we draft Mixon? (merged threads)
|
If/when you have a daughter maybe your opinions will mature. Can you honestly say with straight face that if "your daughter" was struck with such force that her jaw broke in 4 places by her BF/Fiancé/Male that you would be this chill about it? I mean if it was just once they should just continue the relationship right? You acting like the majority of the population has done something to the equivalent of this and shouldn't judge is more of a strawman the what others have posted. If you honestly feel this way about the topic, I think we all understand why you answered "1. I don't have a wife" We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
No, my opinions will not "mature". The fact you think that once I have a daughter means my opinions will "mature" shows you have no sense of objectivity on this matter. People superimpose the incident onto themselves and think about it from the standpoint of "well if it were a woman in my life I would be pissed" and not from the standpoint of what is actually fair. She put her hands on him first, period. Forget physical superiority. I can bench 300lbs+ and if a weaker guy put his hands on me after already agitating me and I snap on his [BLEEP], I am not deplorable for it. But, because it was a woman, Mixon is the scum of the Earth. But yet, the same people claiming these things will say women should be equals to men and not treated differently. No, what people are really advocating for is an unfair society where women have the complete advantage because men are evil, I guess. If you believe that women should be treated no differently from men, then you should not see Mixon as a scum for hitting one who hit him first.
And in case anyone tries to misconstrue my statement, I have already said that what he did was a MISTAKE. HOWEVER, that mistake does not make him a scum, evil, unforgivable, or whatever other hyperbolic over reactionary labels people want to give him. If the girl doesn't want to get clocked then she should not put her hands on people, period. The so called "victim" is not innocent in this incident but because of PC outrage she gets all the sympathy. Dumb. "A man with no sauce is lost.

Once again hopefully one day your opinions will mature and you will realize that hitting a woman is never right unless your life is in danger. And yes opinions will change when you have a child.
This wasn't a mistake...he clearly follows her wanting to continue the altercation. Real men know restraint and don't black out and resort to physical violence over something considered "disrespectful" once again this comes with maturity but you still see side with his point of view. In our society you can't just go around clocking people because they put hands on you first if they aren't a danger to you which anyone with eyes can see this girl wasn't. Was the FSU QB in the right for decking the girl in the bar? Was Ray Rice? Greg Hardy? As long as they punch 1st they should get what's coming to em right? Very mature viewpoint... You're spending way too much time defending this guy. It ain't the fact that he hit her, it's the amount of force he hit her with. It was disproportionate and unbecoming of a man. You liberals thinking breaking a teenage girls jaw with a punch is bad. Sad!
Quote:?? Just I noticed you were still on the beginner weights with a bench that low. Just saying don't be afraid to ask for advice and techniques on how to bench. I know what you're trying to get at, but to normal people that's elite. Quote:You liberals thinking breaking a teenage girls jaw with a punch is bad. Sad!What does being liberal have to do with anything? I consider myself a liberal, that doesn't mean I bow my head to every single thing women and SJWs want. "A man with no sauce is lost.

I don't think you know what politically correct(ness) means? I too hate the PC America. Which is more about not being able to say certain things because it'll hurt someone's feelings. Hitting someone is assault. Man, woman, strong, weak... Hitting a woman is seen by society as being worse.... and you can choose to disagree with that. But assault is assault. Violence is wrong. I don't know if it speaks to maturity so much as ignorance in general. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
I don't think many on here believes hitting is right. That being said, why is it yours or my business what he did off work unless you think he is likely to do it again. And who knows what happens in the future. You might just get arrested for something you did in the past and thought you got away with. Any way, as far as him being a talent. He definitely is. If he falls to the 3rd, he would be worth the risk in my opinion.

If he falls to the 3rd, he would be worth the risk in my opinion. Because domestic violence has been getting players suspended frequently the past few years and most don't want to waste a pick on a guy that may be unavailable because of his "off work" behavior. Quote:I know it's fun sitting on the moral high horse, but it's getting really annoying watching highly skilled freak athletes with character concerns like Frank Clark, Tyreek Hill, and now David Irving go bonkers for other teams that capitalized on them falling significantly farther than they should have. I see occasional beef towards Hill still, but Clark's is already long forgotten and I'll bet no one even knew Irving had off field issues to begin with. For those players to work out, you need an organization to keep them in line. A player with character issues would be a disaster for a coach like Bradley. I'm not opposed to taking a chance on someone in a later round but in 1-2 it is really risky and you are just putting even more pressure and money onto a player that may not be able to handle it. I think just like any other organization, it is good to recruit players of high character. There are players of high character who obviously stink but those players do not stink because of their high character. Low character players often have failed careers BECAUSE of their low character. In the end it is just another factor that you have to evaluate and weigh against other things. If you read it wrong, you will be a goat, if you read it right, you might get Randy Moss.
Calling Deshawn Watson a future bust since 3/19/17. If I eat crow, I will keep this in here and proclaim JackCity a genius.

Per Rotoworld supposedly some teams have a first round grade on him still. I wonder if teams don't care since it was a couple years ago.

I'd be pretty surprised if someone took him in the first. Quote:Per Rotoworld supposedly some teams have a first round grade on him still. I wonder if teams don't care since it was a couple years ago. The bears head coach had an interview recently and he didn't seem to think teams would have a problem with it. He also said he hadn't really heard anything about it. I think its a dead cert Mixon will go in the first or second. |
