Marrone new HC

Quote:Please stop. You're the only poser spewing this take, and it's wrong on many levels. I don't know about Shannahan, but I guarantee you Mike Smith and Josh McDaniels wanted the job.
Hires search firm...hires the guy who was on 14-48's coaching staff.

Hey, it's all about continuity. We must continue to get the top draft picks for the next couple of years.

In terms of sexiness, this hire is a Rosie O'Donnell

I bet Bortles knew all along.

If you think I offended you, don't worry, I meant to. #facts

No problem with Marrone himself he is an ok coach who will probably do an ok job, but every problem in the world with the process that resulted in him being hired.

Jags think they are close. They didn't want to blow it up

It's real simple guys.

Caldwell wanted a coach that wanted Bortles.

Coughlin came out and said "nope"

Mike Smith probably did too, who knows. But Marrone was the guy bc he believes in Byron Lef....I meant Bortles.

What a complete let down. You got Coughlin, Smith, Shannahan, etc...and you come back with Douglas Marrone. Just WOWZERS

He's a solid coach...very underwhelming though

Is this official?

In any case, my view of whoever was/will be hired is we'll see what happens now before I rush to judgement.

If it's Marrone, I hope he gets new DC and DB coachs at the very least.

I don't mind Doug Marrone and think he'll do a decent job but this is a terrible way to inspire the fanbase.

He took over a team with a 14-48 record and went .500.

The funny thing is, naturally, Marrone is better on his worst day than Gus on his best day, so even 6 wins creates the perception we are on the right track, so they keep Bortles for the long haul. It could be 2030 before we have a winning season.

Quote:Heres some snake oil Id like to sell you too

except no one is selling me that. it is my own opinion which ive explained numerous times over the past 2 weeks.

unlike you, who is just absorbing all the woe is me from the garbage posters here and the constant negative opinions on our team from the media.

if you really stepped back to logically look at marrone's resume, you would see a lot of upside and promise.

the dumb excuse that he was part of a staff that had so few wins...i could find 100 really good coaches that were part of garbage teams before they finally caught on to success.

whats done is done, either embrace it or let it keep you up at night in your moist undies.

Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

It's really not. ...not when you actually watch Marrone and realize he's like the polar opposite of Gus.

I believe if we had a solid coach this year, we might be in the playoffs. Someone who would have benched Bortles, and been tougher with the players.
