All last season, why wait so long to can Gus?  It seems like a weak hire to pick Marrone against the other candidates.

 

Unless Marrone/Coughlin brings in top notch OC/DC to run the team, I'm reserving my hope for the Jags  future.

Maybe to reserve a higher draft pick? I don't think Gus was getting fired early on. Even if we fired him half way through the season we really didn't have a chance to win the division if Marrone was to lead us to 6-2 or better.
