Marrone new HC

Quote:All we have is the hindsight bias. We are not privvy to what goes on behind the scenes.

Marrone knows Gus got almost 4 full seasons even though he was the second worst head coach of all time. I don't think Marrone is worried about ownership being the same as the Bills...

No, we all have the potential for hindsight bias, but some of us are aware of it and don't spout criticisms of decisions that weren't made because they could have only been rationally made with information that wasn't attained until the future.

The part of this that's attention getting on this end is Dave Caldwell wasn't mentioned as part of the meeting.

Quote:He was apart of the coaching staff during the entire 2015 NFL season. And it's not silly at all to question a front office that's driven this team into a 14 - 48 septic tank of a franchise over the past four years. The whole process was and has been foolish up until the last few months.

If they were comfortable enough with Marrone to make him the head coach yesterday they must have been comfortable with him enough long before the firing of Bradley in December.

It's quite clear this front office doesn't know what it's doing. There's a reason Khan hired Coughlin to be the VP of football operations and why Caldwell just basically took a demotion.
Obviously they weren't comfortable with making him head coach before December or they would have done it before then.

You are trying to say the knew all along Marrone was the guy they wanted and knew this is where he wanted to be but decided to stick with Bradley just because. Do you realize how stupid this sounds?

So you are saying the FO doesn't know what they are doing but somehow knew all along Marrone was their guy before seeing how things play out. Another stupid notion.

Dave has really been demoted. Wow. What is the real reason to keep him? Is it because of the average roster?

Has naked pictures of Khan.

I don't think I'd call it a demotion...he just answers to TC now instead of directly to Khan.

Have you seen my baseball?

again, caldwell isnt in charge of staffing. khan was. now coughlin is.

Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

I think Dave has been demoted somewhat to his role held with the falcons which if im not mistaken is director of scouting

I think he is still the GM...TC is the VP of Football Operations.

If Khan is relieving his duties to Coughlin, he's obviously accepting some responsibility for Gus. If he's not firing Bradley, then I'm inclined to believe that he may be more responsible for retaining Gus as long as we did. All speculation but that's what I'm thinking.

'This fanbase'.  I love that stupid broad phrase.  Are you part of the 'fanbase', moron?  Well..actually, no, you're not.

@jasonlaconfora DeWayne Walker among the assistant coaches not being retained by Doug Marrone. That dude can coach. Should be a defensive coordinator

I think we are starting to see each figures's role being fleshed out.

Caldwell for most of his career has been geared towards talent evaluation and roster building.

Tom Coughlin has the relationships with coaches/assistants around the league making him a better staff evaluator. Basically cultivating a winning culture

Going to be interesting seeing how each persons role plays out

@jasonlaconfora Marrone will be making many changes on offensive side as well, but keeping OC Nathaniel Hackett and TE coach Ron Middleton

Lol.

Plenty of questions to be answered for sure.

It certainly wouldn't be surprising if Dave Caldwell is in essence the Jaguars Personnel Director,  though maintaining GM pay and title.

Lets just save time...here:

Whatever coaches the Jags keep.... Brooklyn will say they are terrible and that shows that the Jags have no idea what they are doing.

Whatever coaches the Jags let go.... Brooklyn will say there are great and should have been kept and THAT shows that the Jags have no idea what they are doing.

Now lets all put him on ignore until he gets banned.
