Who do you want as OC?

Quote:I'm worried that we are taking half measures to preserve the culture of a 3 win team. I hope I am wrong but this loser mindset of low expectations that Bradley had to have run downstream to the coordinators. I was hoping for more of a clean slate.
I don't believe we're doing ANYTHING to preserve culture.

Someone like Hackett may be retained because he is the best available man for the job.

His familiarity and relationship with Bortles and the rest of the offense is absolutely something that should be considered.

All we can do is hope whoever gets the job is able to get us performing consistently well.

Quote:It's really weird how they haven't named Hackett as OC yet we haven't heard anything about them interviewing OCs. I think if they hire Chip Kelly it will be as a QB coach. Kelly would want to hire his own guys to run his system and clearly we are hiring guys on our own.
I believe the delay in naming Hackett the OC has to be because we're waiting until the playoffs are over because we're interested in someone who is currently on a playoff teams staff and can not be Interviewed.

Quite possible. And if it doesn't work out, it'll just come back to Hackett.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

Quote:That's exactly what I did. I mentioned Brian Callahan in another thread as someone I liked alot. He did wonders with Matt Stafford. I also liked Van Pelt though. Pollack is someone whom really intrigues me as well. Hopefully we bring in at least one of these guys for an interview.

Ironically,  there was a report earlier today that the Lions blocked Brian Callahan from interviewing with another team.   Callahan is following a similar path that Jim Bob Cooter in more ways than one,  including having a background with working with Peyton Manning.

As for Pollack,  are you thinking of Frank Pollack,  who has molded the Cowboys Offensive Line into an elite level unit?

I don't mind Chip as OC. Big name hire with HC experience, great offensive mind. Would be better than any hire Gus has ever made.
