Chip Kelly interviewing as OC

Heard Chip bringing his WR coach from philly. Dude was terrible.

Quote:Other than the the big run Kapernick had late in the game at Arizona where I think the score was close or tied most of his or the team rushes have come in garbage time.

Kelly's offense is predicted on timing and Blake's mechanics has to get fixed first and should be the larger priority.

Blake should be working on his mechancs literally as we speak, regardless of what happens at the OC position.  He's going to learn a new offense anyway.  Blake needs to worry about himself and the offense we run doesn't really have much to do with weather he can throw the ball or not.

I haven't seen this kind of teal kool-aid swilling since In Gene We Trust.

I don't forget the taste.  I was drinking straight from the spigot.

Looks like you forgot.  How's the backside, still sore?

Hahaha, im so used to us winning the offseason that im just taking a back sit. Definitely an interesting hire but Im not getting too hyped. I want to see results on the field.

It goes both ways. None of these guys have worked a minute together/coaches a game and we're sharpening our pitchforks.

Yes, that's literally what's happening... *yawn*

I'm about 65% convinced Coughlin can do the Darth Vader Sith Lord choke move from halfway across the room. If he comes into the fold, I think Tom can keep him in line. Though it really should be Marrone keeping the house in order.
Only a chump boos the home team!

You mean back when we had one of the worst GM's of all time running the show? I don't think our situation now is even close to the same...

Dough Marrone is head coach in charge of preparing the coffee. I cant wait to see Coughlin in the owners booth with a headset on.

Of course... it's all rose petals, unicorns, and rainbows now.

Thanks for proving my point.  Every single idea thrown out is taken as if it's the best thing since sliced bread to you.

If history has taught us anything at all, it should be that we should let it play out first.

I guess you must also struggle with reading if you missed my posts talking about Chip, the OC position, etc....

I guess mods don't have much better to do than to come on the message board that they're tasked with upholding the code of conduct and insult posters for having an opinion.

You're just a slightly more educated version of kyjaggy

Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

When have I said everything will work out great and everything TC does is an A+

Grasping at straws bud...

I've said time and time again to do exactly that, let it play out and see what happens before complaining. This is a brand new regime, no one knows how things will go until we, ya know, actually see it.

Quote:I have no problem being critical with who we hire, but it seems regardless of who is rumored/hired here it's met with a ton of complaints/"this guy sucks". Doesn't even matter who it is, there will be constant criticism. Just annoying to see.

"Anybody but Hackett.."

Jaguars are rumored to be interviewing and likely hiring Chip Kelly.

"This guys a joke, PLEASE NO!!"

The guy has had two HC gigs, had good success with Nick Foles at QB before dealing him and him flaming out. Went to SF with no talent and had a top 5 rushing offense. Yet he's just a terrible possibility to strictly run our offense (when he has succeeded for the most part in this role, whereas his personnel moves are what has screwed him over).

Its a message board man. Not everyone will have the same opinion on potential hires.

The hires of Perry Fewell and the OLine guy were almost universally praised here. Reason? They were pretty clean cut hires who had very little holes in their resume.

Never said everyone had to be. But like you said, it's a message board...where we discuss our opinions. What's wrong with me disagreeing and showing my viewpoint/why I think it could be a  good hire in reply?

You have shared no opinion with me, just lashed out at me for daring to question Coughlin.  Go ahead, let it out like a petulant child.  Maybe try hitting the report button a few times if it makes you happy.  You won't understand until you grow up and can handle dissenting opinions.  Until then, you've got your little snipes at me and your report button.  Don't strain yourself pounding the keyboard.  Wouldn't want to miss your valuable insight, that's for sure...

I agree with you that people shouldn't go all in, but I dont see a reason to hate this move. I think Chip strictly in charge of the offense and the offense only could be an interesting situation. His high tempo fast pace offense is exactly how Blake Bortles operates.

Im not going to drink the koolaid just yet, but im willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

You have got to be kidding me.  You've acted personally offended at any comment I've made that dares question any of these moves.

You've been the kool aid man the past week or longer.  It's where you're coming up with the pitchfork nonsense.  That's certainly not a "no one knows" approach...

We were the laughing stock for interviewing Kelly for HC.  To think it somehow makes it better by bringing him back once again for OC talks, is just... wow.  We look twice as questionable.

The only people not laughing at the name Chip Kelly right now are a hand full of glib Jaguar fans who don't see the lunacy in even considering him.

Someone described the idea of bringing in Kelly as "the most Jaguar thing ever."  I usually laugh along with that kind of thing because we've heard it all already.  But this time it stings, because it's true.

People can learn from past mistakes, even head coaches.  That and I don't think 1 year in San Fran should be held over his head.  Ultimately, I don't care either way if he's hired or not.  I'll reserve judgement until I see whatever the product on the field is in the regular season.
