Nope, he misread Rapoport's tweet about having hires ready and thinks Kelly's already hiring them.

That link says Chip has assistants ready to hire if he's offered the job. We don't know if he's been offered the job yet.

This would be a tom/shad hire. Im not sure how this is going to work

Hiring an OL and RB coach before Chip is on board likely decreases his chances. Im sure he'd want an offensive staff of his guys.

The OL coach was on Chips staff.

Hackett is supposed to get an interview too

Funny how he thinks he'll be able to bring in his own staff.

On tonight's news, Sam Kouvaris indicated that Marrone and Kelly share a lot of the same offensive philosophies.  I do not know this to be true.  If it is, I would feel better about a Kelly signing, though I would still have my reservations.

Fro NFL.com

"Kelly would be a fascinating addition to Marrone's system. Marrone came up through the coaching ranks as a tight ends and offensive line coach who got a big break as Sean Payton's offensive coordinator down in New Orleans from 2006 to 2008. Since then, he's developed his own hyper-drive version of Payton's system that combines many of the elements which made Kelly's offenses successful at Oregon and in Philadelphia. By the time Marrone was done in the college coaching ranks, both schemes looked very similar.

Given Coughlin's admiration and Marrone's desire to fit his athletic quarterback and receivers with a quick, aggressive system, this could end up as one of the more interesting pairings in football next year. All three have philosophical ties to the great Bill Parcells, which is the kind of atmosphere they're hoping to build down in Jacksonville".

How much will chip kelly rub certain players the wrong way? There were accusations (which were unfounded IMO) of Kelly releasing players in philly in part because of their race. He also quickly got rid of the vocal few like shady and desean.

Will chip rub some of our young vocal players the wrong way? Especially if they don't like coughlin being the grumpy grandpa?

It's something to consider.

I personally think a guy like chip Kelly would be great for us. The other negative is this...if he fails, we fail.if he succeeds, great success - but he probably leaves for another head coaching job.

Consider this: if he is hired, succeeds and lands another head coach gig (I think at minimum he would be here two years in this scenario), at least we would know we have the ppl in place to hire successful coaches. I'm sure new England didn't care if they lose McDaniels again...

Even if he somehow had an amazing year revitalizing the offense and left after one season it would be worth it. It kind of gets us a year buffer with the new HC. But in my opinion Chip will need a couple of years at least before he's considered for another HC job in the NFL. College is another story. But either way I don't think it would be a power house. I think if he takes the job it's a 2 year min before he bolts. But what if the new staff and team build something special. Well there's a chance he could stay a while to see where this thing goes.

He didnt release players due to their race, he cut them because they had strong personalities, here he is not the HC, GM or President, so he has no say in it.

His job is to get the best out of the offense
