What prevents the Jags from trading #3 to a team that wants Matthews if the Rams do trade for someone wanting Clowney/Bridgewater.

 

What is the talent gap between Matthews as it compares to other OTs in this year's draft?  

 

Pick #3 could be a valuable trade pick if it goes Bridgewater/Clowney...

 

Is Barr seen as the last premium pass rusher or is Matthews the must have LT...Rams could get screwed again by trading back which is why I think they will go Matthews @ #2 leaving Clowney or Bridgewater there at 3.

The Rams trading out of #2 is a big, big If.

 

I know we want to make this seem like there's some sort of possibility, but the Rams trading out of that spot with Matthews still on the board is about the same chance as the Texans not picking Clowney OR Bridgewater.

 

And the Jags won't trade out unless Bridgewater or Clowney aren't on the board, two MAJOR needs, and there's virtually no chance of that happening as long as the Rams hold that #2 pick, which WILL be Matthews, and rightfully so. Matthews is adequate value at #2 even with Clowney on the board.

I know nothing about Matthews and Barr, but I do know the Falcons need a left tackle and have the #6 pick. We can trade down three spots and let them pick Matthews if the Texans pick Bridgewater. But would it be smart to trade out of the top five?

 

What I am worried about is the Browns trading up with the Rams to jump over us. They have extra picks to do it.

If we are missing out on Clowney/Bridgewater and assuming Matthews goes #3 with our trade...

 

At #6 you still have choice of Barr/Mack/Carr/Manziel...one of which would be guaranteed @ #6 assuming we net a 2nd or 3rd...why not since we don't have a need for Matthews and we have more holes than just Barr could fill @ #3.

Rams got burned last year...they really need LT...Matthews seen as the Elite "can't miss" LT this year.

 

Would rams gamble trading out of #2 knowing that Jax at #3 has no need for LT while Atl @#6 desperately needs LT?

Rams go Matthews in order to not get burned

Jax gets whoever Texans don't pick.

They could easily swap the # 4, a 2nd round pick, and a 3rd to the Rams for the #2, and the Rams could still end up with Matthews at 4, and it would be worth it for the Rams to deal down.

 

If Cleveland wound up trading both #1s to deal up, the Rams could still end up with Matthews, Sammy Watkins, and their choice of CB, RB, or even RT with the other first round pick without even getting out of the first round.
