Chip Kelly interviewing as OC

Is Hackett in his brain? Everything was Hacketts fault?

Look. No one knows how Hackett or Kelly or Marrone or Coughlin or Wash will do this season. No one knows.

But if you liked Coughlin being EVP and you feel like he can right the ship, then you have to give him a chance to get the staff he thinks will do that. It's definitely fair to criticize anyone who is hired for this team.

I've said it before but a good indication of future performance is past performance.

There (Wash, Marrone, Hackett) past performance is pretty mediocre.

Yep, that's why I'm saying he's gone.

Chip has had power the past X number of year since Oregon, he runs a very unique offense, and now he's interviewing for a team that is buying his groceries and telling him to carve up a fancy dinner.

Bye Bye Chip --- no way he comes here.

And Coughlin is anything but mediocre.

No, but the single thing that I'm still banging my head to understand is the fact that Collinsworth and the other broadcaster during Game 3 preseason game Vs the Bengals kept pointing out Blake's bad mechanics whereas the coaching staff (Hackett = QB coach) failed to recognize and correct it in the prior 5 weeks of training camp leading up to that game.

Because too many things wrong to fix all at once. Ya cant fix the footwork, mechanics, motion, and, decision making. That season.

Unfortunatly Blake is a work in progress. with padded stats.

People would see this if Blake had a real qb to compete with. But since the only comparison is Henne.

It is easy to be confused and think he only has one thing wrong with him.

Did I touch a nerve?? The man said it was his job to make sure the qbs were prepared. It didn't appear to me that he did a good job in that regard. Perhaps he was handcuffed by Olson (sp?), either way I'm sure you can understand my skepticism. While Coughlin is by far my favorite jags coach, I'm not going to automatically assume he's going to get everything right. What I do trust is that he will work very hard at his job and demand the same from everyone else. I'll judge him based on what happens. Hoping Blake turns it around, but not holding my breath. If we waste another season trying to salvage him, it will be in part based on recommendations or endorsements from Hackett and Marrone. That will count as an indictment should Blake look like he has the majority of his time here.

Hackett has done a tremendous job. Considering Blake is still a work in progress.

It is easy to point out the negitives because are so many with Blakes game.

However it is much easier to fix one thing and to coach that. Than to be a miracle worker.

Cool. I won't shed a tear if he's named OC. We'll see if he's cut out for it.

The statements above are contradictory to each other.

Hackett has been the QB Coach for 2 years now.  Bortles was a #3 draft pick.  He shouldn't still be a work in progress if Hackett did a tremendous job.

No it doesn't because Hackett is awesome at everything he does and cant be accountable for his QB crapping the bed every Sunday.

Blake is not a work in progress. He didnt progress he regressed. Doesnt look good for Hackett or bortles. Sack em both and start over.

The offense didn't start playing better until after Marrone took over and even then it wasn't anything to write home about.
-SHRUG-

run game/play calling improved when Hack took over OC job.

Execution and better play wasn't seen until the final two weeks.

I think some of that had to do with opponents.....

and said as much that the farce of improvement would get Maronne the job.

And now much like the HC search... we'll do due diligence until settling with the guys in the room that think they can fix Bortles.

Everyone should be critical of these moves.

But... everyone should know that as interims you get little time to actually change things and as new actual HC and OC (and DC for Wash) they get to put THEIR stamp on it. As opposed to running with Bradleys stamp (or Olsen--who apparently didn't want the QB to work on mechanical issues)

we'll see if anything is different. I'm not optimistic...

but not nearly as pessimistic as the usuals...

Keep beating it til it comes true kiddo.

You'll have to wait until 2018 (likely) to see a different starting QB.

Bortles progressed from rookie year to sophmore year and then regressed in his 3rd year.

But the stories that have come out offer some insight, if you're into that sort of thing, about maybe why he regressed.

If you're not at least a little interested to see if we can have a 30TD/12INT 4k yds a year QB on a regular basis

well I suppose Watson is your savior eh?

If Bortles does not improve he will not be the QB much longer. It was made very clear to everyone that Winning is all that matters. Bortles is on a short leash. If you don't choose to believe it that's your prerogative. I personally dont care who the QB is as long as hes winning games and improving. It seems some of you have separation anxiety with Bortles just like with Gus Bradley. If Bortles isn't making strides this season he wont be our Franchise QB.
