Last time I check points won games not yards, we were 26th in points allowed.


To sum it up our defense was overrated.

 

The Jags would have been 9-6-1 had total yards been the criterion for winning.


 

Of course the opposing teams might have changed their strategy in that case.

This wasn't Hackett's offense until the last 3 games where we showed a lot more swag than before.

The points given up stat is skewed by pick sixes, short fields given up because of bad special teams coverage, etc. A lot of stuff the defense had no hand in. I'd like to see how many times our offense went 3 and out and put the defense right back on the field.

While I agree with you to a certain extent, I still believe it's the defense job to keep the team out of the endzone.. Look at the Chiefs vs Steeler game last weekend... Chiefs forced the Steelers to I believe a record 5 fg.. So my point is a good defense no matter the circumstances can still keep a team from scoring, by creating sacks,turnovers,forcing field goals..
