Who else is excited for another 2018 top 5 draft pick?

The same handful of teams I mentioned have good QB's. I'm saying decent QB's that you are implying that can make the playoffs who aren't that great aren't worth betting on to get a Lombardi unless you have an elite defense. Hell, even if you do. Guys like Brock Osweiler, Matt Moore, Alex Smith? They'll get you to the playoffs but can they win you the Super Bowl in this era? That's something else entirely. It's a QB league.

You clearly said, "what's the point of getting to the playoffs, if you don't get all the way?". That's entirely from your own post in this thread...

Only 2 teams can be in the Super Bowl. There's plenty of teams with good QBs, who don't make the Super Bowl. You think that any team's QB who doesn't make the Super Bowl is replaceable..

Well, I bet in your mind, you absolutely think Rodgers was the one who made Cook catch that ball and tippy toe tap his feet on the side line. Clearly Rodgers being the QB made him do that right?

That's just the easiest and most recent example. We could go on and on about how one sided of an argument you want.

Hard to be excited about Hackett but the much bigger difference maker will be what they do in terms of personnel at quaterback and on the offensive side of the ball overall, so there is still time to improve those areas. Also - and god forbid - there is a chance Bortles actually improves his play by himself. Retaining Hackett could also be a business decision as it would be costly to leave him off his duty and hire someone new. Research also shows that in a team, it is way more important how the individuals interact with each other than who is part of the team, meaning its a positive thing that there is some chemistry with Marrone/Hackett. I think it's too early to write this offseason off.

You said that QB's who throw a ton of picks can make you the playoffs and I said those QB's likely won't win the Lombardi in this era. The Matt Moore/Alex Smith guys can make you the playoffs but you'd be hard pressed to find them win a Super Bowl in this era. Not that it's not impossible. It's just a QB driven league. So is that what you want? Is that where your goals are set for this team? For Bortles to just be a guy who can get to the playoffs carried by the defense and just be one and done? Therefore, yes. Teams like the Texans and the Chiefs might as well start looking to the future and start over. And if your QB is throwing a ton of picks and still not making the playoffs then it's even more concerning.

And hell yes, that was mostly Rodgers. You give that ball, in that situation, to any other QB in the league and that's incomplete. Rodgers has laser pinpoint accuracy and put it right where it needed to be. No discrediting Cook but that throw was one in a million and ARod makes them weekly.

In week 17 they play the Colts, whom coming into that game had allowed EVERY team in the league to throw for over 200 yards, except for 3 and they were all close to 150....again Bortles played solid.

I'm convinced that everyone on this board thinks we won that game.

If you want to see bad offensive strategy and coaching .... just watch the 2nd half of that game.

No way being in the playoffs could be this much fun!

Marrone promoted:  Everybody freak out. Nothing's changing. We're screwed!!

Coughlin added as exec:   Oh. Maybe we're gonna be fine after all.

Couple of TC buddies brought in:  Ah, yeah. New captain at the helm. It's all good.

Wash retained:   You've gotta be kidding me!  Doomed!!

Hackett named OC:  WHAT!! Embrace mediocrity!!  Nooooo!!!!

Seriously. This is better than a six flags roller coaster.  Wait till we hit that corkscrew section and the final double loop around draft day.
