If it came down to these 3 players who would you take?

For me it's Berry and it's not that close.

Fournette, by a mile. Truly elite RB's in the NFL are a luxury. A.P. is considered one of the greatest, when he was in his prime. A player like him could give our offense a whole new dimension.

AP vs Eric berry is a no brainier. I'd take AP every single time.

Fournette will have to be evaluated but he is a freaky physical specimen. If our scouting team determines they aren't worried about his injuries...Then he could easily come into play at 4.

A team that does have as much talent as ours normally wouldn't come close to being able to draft a premier talent like fournette.

I could see it happening but I feel like Tom and Dave are going to take the big uglies first.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

Fournette out of that lot. Yes, we need an edge rusher. And depending on what happens this off-season with Cyprien. Yes, we may need a safety. But we will 100% need a viable running back this year if Bortles is going to be the signal caller. Which all indications seem to be pointing in his direction.

I think a lot of people falsely believe our run blocking was putrid last year. I, however, fully disagree. While it wasn't perfect. We saw a HUGE difference on the ground during the 2nd half of the year under Hackett's offensive play calling. Finishing with nearly 1200 yards on the ground through those eight or nine games against quality defenses.

I think a guy like Fournette could end up paying off huge dividends under the same play calling and a fully healthy offensive line in 2017 if Hackett ends up being retained as the play caller. Either way. I think we have more promise on the front four between Fowler Jr. & Ngakoue than we do between Yeldon and Ivory in our backfield.

Our offense has traditionally always had a stellar running back on the roster in our history. Between Stewart, Taylor and Jones-Drew. It's been hurting ever since we lost Jones-Drew due to injuries and his departure for Oakland. We currently have a decent passing attack between Bortles' arm and receiving weapons. We just need that threat in the backfield to lighten up the load for the rest of the offense.

Fournette, although not my favorite running back of this class. I personally would rather have Cook or wait and see if we could land Foreman in RD2 out of Texas. Out of these options I'd still take Fournette if my hand was forced.

None of the above Cook. If ya discredit what the guy has done at Florida State. Then have not seen Ramsey and Smith produce.

That is a great football program. And Cook is elite.

I'd have to agree.  If I knew Cook or Fournette would be AP, I'd take that in a heartbeat over just a high-end FS.

My current pick out of the options would be Adams.

I remember when this was 22-12 for Fournette. Crazy how swayed by big draft many people are. Kiper and Jeremiah post Adams to us in their first mocks and it's been like 10-0 for Adams since.

I was thinking the same thing lol. If they mocked us Fournette it would be Fournette by a landslide lol. Kind of funny

I don't think it's funny, I think it's sad. People are such lemmings, they do whatever they think society wants them to do. Nobody thinks for themselves anymore. We're all just like a bunch of mindless robots.

To be fair, not everyone likes to sit around and watch 15-30 minutes of film on each prospect, nor do they know what to look for.  They see some highlights and follow a couple draft reporters and call it a day.

I think that if all the options look good, then you have to ask which player is likely to make the biggest difference on the field.

And to me, if Garrett and Allen aren't there, it has to be a RB over a safety.

Plus, Fournette or Cook would be a big upgrade over Yeldon and Ivory. I don't think Adams or Hooker wouldn't be such a big upgrade over Cyp or Gipson.

I can only speak for myself, but I've been an Adams fan since I first started turning some attention to the draft, somewhere in November probably.

Could not possibly care less about what Kiper has to say.

Depends on FA as well.

Quote:Today I voted for Barnette due to the need for pass rushers. Adams would be great, but I believe they can get a good safety in the 2nd like the kid from Washington. My vote will probably change daily as there is a case to be made for all 3. Ultimately, it will come down to who does best in the combine, personal workouts and interviews. I can't forget how Coughlin picked Fred Taylor after attending his workout and how much he did for the franchise. If he likes Fournette as much as Fred, this may very well be the pick.

I know I'm in the minority, but I believe the running game with Ivory, Yeldon, Grant and a 3rd or 4th round pick (Pumphrey (sp.), Conner, etc.) would be good enough with the addition of a couple better offensive linemen. Fournette would be the "sexy' pick, but for every Ezekiel Elliot there are 2 or 3 Trent Richardson's. Throw in his injury risk and taking him with the 4th pick is just too risky for me.

That's just it. Cyp was a good S... projected best SS in his class. But I'm tired of good. We need great. We another Darius back there if we're truly going to get to the next level on defense. They say Adams is the best tackler in college at any position. Next to Ramsey, he'd help make the Jaguars secondary second to none.

Adams has the look of an elite SS.. but Hooker is looking like a possibly elite FS, so I would take him Ahead of Adams more than likely.

Also, I would take Dalvin Cook over Fournette
