Jags hire McCardell as WR coach

#41

Quote:Huh?

Apparently a number of folk 'round here decided to ridiculously over interpret a tweet from Jimmy Smith last week.

It merely said he was visiting Jacksonville  - and some took it to mean that he was interviewing for a job.

Quote:Hopefully he's learned a thing or two about coaching up their in Maryland. Better than hiring that crack head jimmy so that's a positive. I'm not sure going from Sully to Keenan was a net positive but hopefully Keenan can have some influence on the squad. Not much he can teach Hurns since his strength is route running but will see.

Any WR coach is a downgrade from Sully, but fortunately they've already learned what they can from Sully. McCardell just might teach him a few more tricks of the game.

No. I've lived in Maryland the majority of my adult life. Most of my inner circle of friends are Maryland alumni.

Who are you referring to? The only other Marylander I know of is The Drifter and he rarely posts here afaik.

Quote:I don't have a clue how he did in Washington, I don't follow them at all. I'm not going to judge the hire either way but I'm also not going to post up garbage like you do with incorrect information.

You should've just stopped at "I don't have a clue". Its appropriate.

The man has potential to be a good coach, thus he's interviewing for the job.  If he gets the job, that doesn't instantly make the team better.

What does Xbox have to do with McCardell?

Right that's been established. And how did it go? British didn't answer because he admittingly doesn't have a clue.

Sullivan was one of the best coaches that the Jags have had. I hope Keenan can continue that trend and carry the torch on for years.

Wouldn't that be something.

With the exception of Lee and Walters, the receivers regressed this year. Blake's implosion was part of it, but they have to take some of the blame too.

Lol hell no! Arob was a diva and gave up on a few plays but I would too if my qb was throwing boomerangs like Blake.

Quote:I wish Keenan would've already worked for another NFL team before coming "home". He doesn't have much on that resume and it seems more like a favor than an earned accomplishment. Of course assuming he even gets the job to begin with.

Keenan didn't do squat for the redskins. Stop acting so hurt. He doesn't have the tenure either way. Lol bunch of butt hurt homers up in here.

Quote:Well...I wouldn't dare speak for anyone else but he was well regarded by Redskins fans at least. Despite living not too far from DC, I paid next to no attention to the Redskins during his tenure as WR coach.

My legion of MD alumni friends are bummed...just as they were stoked we took Yannick. Terps go hard for one of their own...lol.

Edit: As I understand it, Maryland has/had garbage at QB and has for awhile but good receivers. Sounds strangely familiar this past season...
As a TERP, I can agree with everything you said. If you live just outside of D.C., we may have crossed paths before because I also live just outside of there. Not easy being a Jags fan in Maryland lol
