Do you think we'll go back to using a FB this year?

Quote:Scroll up two posts... it appears he's a FA after a stint with the Seahawks, but dude is now 33.

Kuhn is one of the best in the bus... but dude is 34. Marcel Reece can run as well, but dude is 31.

Hopefully whoever they do bring in isn't quite so old.
The guy you're referring to is someone else entirely

Indeed. That's crazy to see another NFL FB with virtually the same wild name.

Will Ta'ufo'ou hasn't played since leaving Duval, however, I found one free agent list where he was listed as a RFA with the Colts after the 2015 season.

Chargers switched to using a FB this year and Melvin Gordon was a much better back. It's not going to fix every thing but it will help for sure.

What do you mean? The former Steelers FB is Chris Fuamatu-Ma'afala. Not similar at all.

No... not Fu ... although I missed Fu from when he played with the Jags. He was darn good off the bench as a RB.

Anyways, I was referring to the Seahawks FB as having a similar name.

Maybe we need to make a trip to American Samoa to find the next great Jaguars fullback?

Calling Deshawn Watson a future bust since 3/19/17. If I eat crow, I will keep this in here and proclaim JackCity a genius.

Is that where WT45 came from?

Born in california but it is a Pacific Islander last name. Per capita American Samoa produces more NFL players than anywhere else.

Interesting. I knew the NFL has/had American Samoan players, but never thought about the nationality percentage.

We had a stud FB the last time we won a playoff game. The Giants also had a FB when they won their 2 Super Bowls. If you want to be a run first physical team you need a FB. And not just a situational 3rd and 1 or 4th and goal convert player.

No pain, no gain.

We shouldn't have to draft a FB. I think we'll address through FA like most teams do. And we also have some decent FB's coming in that should end up as UDFA's.

I'd like to see Nate Iese from UCLA brought in or Dimitri Flowers from OKU. And then bring in a veteran like Marcel Reece or Jerome Felton for a healthy rotation and competition during TC and Pre-season.

Flowers is an underclassmen who didn't declare for the draft, so he's not an option. Lese I'd pass on. I'm a huge UCLA fan and he's not a good lead blocker. This was one of the worst rushing seasons the Bruins have had in quite some time. There were no running lanes anywhere. Lese isn't a true fullback anyway. He was used mainly as a TE and is a better receiver than he is a blocker. One guy that intrigues me is Emmanuel Holder of Towson. He's very stout and is a road grader as a run blocker. I'd definitely target him as an UDFA.

Sam Rodgers is FB#1 according to several folk. Never seen him play though.

Freddie Stevenson was the #1 FB most of the year and just in the past week or so, Rodgers has jumped ahead of him on most boards. Apparently things changed after the Senior Bowl.

I've seen Rogers as the #1 FB all year.

The only thing I don't like about Rogers is how small he is.

I wish there was a Greg Jones somewhere out there. God, I loved that guy.

I have a feeling we'll see an UDFA in camp and maybe a vet minimum FA signing to add competition at the position.

Nobody said we have to draft a FB.
