This is why Jags should draft Leonard Fornette..

Quote:So even when RB enter the league healthy they have shorter careers, with even shorter peak years, and have more injuries mixed in...and we want to take a guy who isn't going to be coming into the league healthy on top of that?

Massive no thanks to that proposition.

And that's understandable. All I'm saying is it's not a "career ender" It may shorten it a few years, or make it start slowly though. So I do understand reluctancy with it. It also may never cause an issue.

id trade up to late first, i doubt that would happen though.  But its possible, Derrick Henry went in the 2nd last year and id say they are close as prospects not to mention the depth of this RB class

Yeah, he's a complimentary RB. He's not an every down runner. I have him to the Jets in round 2, where he can split carries with Forte.

I agree that he isn't an every down back. I have him to the Pats in round 1.

"A note from Dave Caldwell's sit-down with team site: Says "you may just have to take" a RB at top of first round if talent is that obvious."

Fournette incoming!

Half kidding of course. Caldwell always say stuff like this.

I don`t watch any college football but just watching highlights it seems like Cook just runs through people way more often. Fournette seems fast but all ways goes untouched between the line.

It's not Fournette's fault LSU had a better line than FSU.  Watch some cutups of games and you'll see Fournette does a lot after he gets past the LOS (Cook does too), which is really what you want to look at to evaluate RBs.  Any decent college RB worth a salt can run through a big hole.

Fournette ranks #2 on Matt Miller's big board:

I think more and more he's the pick at #4.

See I came away with the exact opposite impression. I saw Fournette truck over people time and time again, I saw Cook make more cuts to find holes more than running through people.

Fournette reminds me more of Lynch

Cook reminds me more of Bell

I wouldn't be upset with either, but I'd prefer Fournette

Devonta Freeman is likely to be a free agent too. If the jags can sign him and use our first or second rounder to bolster another position instead of using it on someone like cook, I'd be happy with that too.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

Somewhere I read that cook compares to Marshall Faulk and I actually do see a similar running style.
