From what I can gather , the video was filmed last December at the College Football Awards and was just a bit of fun . As for missing the draft, I believe he said that you can only bring so many guests to the event so he would rather stay home with all the people who have been there for him during his life.

Apparently he made the Cleveland video before the cowboys video too

Quote:God, there's so much to argue with in this post, it's ridiculous.   First of all, deals are set already.   He cannot shorten or lengthen his deal when he is drafted.   Secondly, you take one single thing, he doesn't want to attend the draft, and smear the guy's character.   Marcus Mariota didn't attend the draft, either.  Neither did Jameis Winston.  They're both doing fine, having very nice careers so far.  "Spoiled cry baby?"   Unless you're his college roommate, you don't know that.   He actually stated he's perfectly happy to be drafted by Cleveland.  The business about wanting the Cowboys to trade up for him was just a joke.  The guy plays college football in Texas.  He's probably a Cowboys fan.

I'm a Jags fan, but if I was lucky enough to be drafted into the NFL I'd go anywhere and do my job. I'd be a millionaire and I realize most people work like dogs to make ends meet, so I'd count my blessings I was able to be in a position where I could make millions playing a game. He obviously doesn't feel the same way and that makes him spoiled and entitled if he was serious. Apparently, he has since said he was fine playing for Cleveland. I was unaware of this. I just don't like when prospects try to manipulate where they go.

You got any more narratives about this guy made up based off a joke video or is that it? Guy is having some fun with the draft process joking about his home town team drafting him. He already said he'd be happy in cleveland. These are like ESPN talking head levels of overreaction.

God forbid our NFL entertainment robots go away from their programming and give an answer that isnt canned repetitive jargon.

Also hes nothing special? stop pretending to be a scout man no one takes you seriously. Youre the same guy who said he doesnt like mccaffrey cause hes white, youre opinion doesnt mean anything.

I never said I was a scout and my opinion certainly doesn't matter to anyone, but myself. Neither does yours.

Prospects can manipulate whatever they want. Its their lives and careers and youre in zero position to judge them for trying to have better for themselves.

When they try to manipulate where they go, it shows how entitled they are, no matter what you say. By the way, please use apostrophes in your sentences. It's driving me nuts, trying to read them.

If they try to manipulate where they go they have every right to do so. These guys mash their brains out weekly for our entertainment, if they dont want to turn their brains to smoothies for a team they dont believe they will enjoy were not in any position to make judgements on that.

If a player takes what hes given thats fine, but if he wants to try and do something about it thats fine too. They dont have to settle for anything.

Quote:I wouldn't draft him in the first or second round based on this. Totally unprofessional... If he skips the draft then how do you know he won't skip games or the playoffs??????

Good point.  Joe Thomas (Browns) skipped the draft and was selected in Round 2.  He's skipped the playoffs every year since he was selected.

Pretty sure he was taken like third overall.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

But this is not a case of a bad player or troubled one.   This is the case of he does not like social media or the spot light.

Eli made it known he didn't want to play for the Chargers too.

It's not like Garrett is skipping the draft to go on a bender at a nightclub in Dallas or something. He's spending the time with his family, I can respect that. You draft players for what they are going to do on the field, not for their media presence. If their off field activities are criminal or harmful to the image of the team, that's different, but this man is just wanting to be with his family.

Calling Deshawn Watson a future bust since 3/19/17. If I eat crow, I will keep this in here and proclaim JackCity a genius.

I would applaud a player who refuses to be on social media.

If he's asking teams to trade up for him, he's throwing up some flags. Seems like he isn't very mature. Personally, I don't see the appeal of Garrett. I wouldn't take him that high anyway.
Joe Thomas, Jamis Winston and Mariota didnt attend the draft

A bit off topic, but I am having trouble finding a good thread for it.

Does Garrett fit a 3-4? If the Browns don't pick him, would either SF or Chi go for Garrett? Would they try to move him to OLB or 3-4 DE? Either way seems like a waste considering how good he could be as a 4-3 DE.

Brown signed Gregg Williams so its a safe bet they are going to a 4-3 and the Bears run a 4-3
