Myles Garrett not attending draft

#61

Quote:Bad attitude. For a player you see

With new sheriff in town. Might not hold.

Up.

If he don't like football he shouldn't be playing. End . of.

Teams and tom.will take him off their draft boards after this.

Quote:I wouldn't draft him in the first or second round based on this. Totally unprofessional... If he skips the draft then how do you know he won't skip games or the playoffs??????
First off, he's under no contractual obligation to attend the draft.  He would have a contractual obligation to play in the games and playoffs, unless injured or some other unforeseen event that precludes his participation.

Furthermore, Joe Thomas and Marcus Mariota stayed away from New York on draft day and turned out fine.  Conversely, Justin Blackmon and Lawrence Phillips, among others, attended the draft and failed miserably.

This was just me trolling Bullseye. I agree with ya.

I'm there, too.

You spend a college career raking in money for your school, only for your transition day to be used to score draft day ratings for the networks and NFL.  All before you've signed your first contract.

I like what Joe Thomas did.

He went fishing.

Does Garrett fit a 3-4? If the Browns don't pick him, would either SF or Chi go for Garrett? Would they try to move him to OLB or 3-4 DE? Either way seems like a waste considering how good he could be as a 4-3 DE.
9ers are switching to a 4-3 so he fits as an end with them as well

That statement in bold intrigues me, because you can make arguments either way, IMO.

I'm inclined to disagree, but I will wrestle with this for a while.

I would like to hear your reasoning for rating him above Clowney as a prospect.

I'm not a fan of KY at all but I would say that Myles Garrett looks like the better prospect as well. Clowney will own the hype for a long time, but Garrett looks to have more overall ability.

Quote:Overall

1. Teddy

2. Clowney

3. Mack

QBs only

1. Teddy

2. Bortles

3. Carr

Quote:More like better than Clowney and a hair below Mack and Miller. Clowney is really good, but even looking at his college cutups and test results you could tell he was a linear athlete that will live through the B gap and not the C gap...which he has done well. Just not as good as Mack and Miller who can do it all.
This was right before the draft.  Its funny how in hindsight and we know how their careers have played out up to this point you always go with who has the better pro career and not how they were coming out of college.  Its funny to watch how you talk about a player as a "prospect" when you know how there NFL career has played out lol.

Quote:Teddy, Clowney, and Robinson are elite to me. Mack, Matthews, and Watkins are very close to elite.

Its funny how good of a scout or GM you can be when you can go back in time and be a fortune teller, know the future, and know how the prospect will do in the pros lol.   Love it when people do that, best GMs ever lol

If you take away the injury concerns ,Garrett vs Clowney is kind of similar to Cook vs Fournette

Hilarious. I agree a lot of people do it but no one is more "holier than thou" than KY

I agree with that but one of my bigger concerns on clowney was that he just didn't have that high motor that you really want from a guy chasing the QB.

I don't think fournette or cook come off as lazy, although fournette might have been playing it safe just to get to the league, something people said might have been clowneys thought process as well.
