Sign Romo - UPDATE - Romo Set to Retire, Enter Broadcast Booth

#61

Quote:What is there to regret? He wouldn't sign here even if TC wanted him. He'd rather play his last few years on a 9-7 playoff team that had bad QB play than a 3-13 team that had bad QB play.

While that has some merit. The truth, we have many weapons.

I would think if Romo signs with Houston, they would cut Brock, and then once Romo retires they would be in a lot of cap trouble. I welcome him to Houston

It wouldnt make sense to cut him till next offseason when the dead money is like 6mil. Romos contract wont be too expensive since he would definitely be ring chasing on top of his age and health. Their cap should be fine.

Quote:Funny stuff.

Romo is about as durable as tapioca.  Considering Houston's history with QBs, it figures they'd be the most likely candidate.

Will probably sign him without even an interview or workout, just like their last savior QB.  Maybe even skip the physical, becauseRomo.

Likely to work out for them just as well.

If his back is healthy and he goes Texans they could very well be contenders.
No Fun

@espnnfl John Clayton believes if the Houston Texans can land Tony Romo they will be the team to beat in the AFC South. https://t.co/25XLiXRuSN

Agreed.

Wow, what a bold prediction.  Seeing as they've already won the division the last two years aren't they already 'the team to beat in the AFC South'?  LOL

I would think Coughlin would be more inclined to bring Cutler in for competition but only if he would reconstruct that ungodly contract he has...It's going to be hard to unload Cutler with that huge contract

I am hoping we are trying to trade for Cousins right now.

that would be better but that would likely involve draft picks and we all know Caldwell doesnt like that, but Coughlin couldn't care less

Uhhh....... draft picks?????? I don't want to trade away draft picks for a fragile QB who might only last 1 game in a season.

There is zero chance Romo wears teal, the more likely landing place is Houston, with all they have and him giving them stability at their biggest glaring problem position, they would be likelly super bowl contenders
