Cousins may hit FA after all.

In a recent article. Cousins said he will not sign a new deal unless Franchise Tag is applied.

If the Redskins refuse.

I think Tom and Dave should persue Cousins. And be the right fit for Jax.

Thoughts?

Or due to open market competition. Should we trade for Cousins?

As much as pains me to say this,  I would.   Due to we need to win now.  Just can't keep losing and sticking with status quo.   To draft top 10 pick forever.

And say,  we fix the Oline, and our running game.  And Blake doesn't improve much.   We can't bet the farm on a draft pick yet again.

The City of Jacksonville, season ticket holders, and Jaguars fans across the world.  Deserve more then a mediocre winning team.

Not much to debate about this one.  Tom knows him well having played against him.

If he's worthy, we'll pursue.  If not, then he's not.

Tom will tell.

What's stupid is Jaguars fans already giving up on Bortles after one bad season.

No we only watch one team. And we are smart to not want to take a chance he gets worse.

Count me as a believer in Cousins, I liked him better than rg3 right out of the draft.

I wouldnt trade a first for Garrapolo but I might be willing to swap firsts and throw in something else for Cousins.

Calling Deshawn Watson a future bust since 3/19/17. If I eat crow, I will keep this in here and proclaim JackCity a genius.

I might be in the minority in terms of my opinion.  But here it goes:

Kirk Cousins would be a major upgrade over the Blake Bortles of 2016.  Yet,  I think the Jaguars will need to do better than what Cousins provides,  especially at the costs associated with the Jaguars bring him into the fold.   Cousins would be no better than the 3rd best QB in the AFC South, likely for a long time to come.   His physical skills don't stand out and he's prone to making huge mistakes.  The interception that DRC came down with in the latter part of the season finale against the Giants might have cost the Redskins a playoff spot.

Who than is out there that would be able to be our qb in 2017?

I'm not sure who the best viable option is.  Yet,  an investment in Kirk Cousins would be well beyond just for 2017.  It would be difficult to convince me that Cousins is the best realistic solution for the Jaguars over the next few years.  Even with the Jaguars currently being in excellent shape salary cap wise,  there has to be a better way for the Jaguars to use their resources.

I think I'd send our 2nd his way. Mostly because I feel like we need to use our 2nd on a QB anyway.

If we did that, he would have to become the starter, and therefor no actual competition at the QB position like we always do...

Redskins fans seem to think the front office and maybe even the locker room aren't the biggest cousins fans.

I'd say that makes me a bit hesitant but then again look at how our fan base turned their backs on bortles after one bad season...
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."
