Pre combine site wide Mock Draft
|
With the 26th pick of the 2017 Jaguars Message Board Pre Combine Mock Draft, the Seattle Seahawks select...
Cam Robinson, T, Alabama Rationale: KY was right that, as Seattle GM, I was thrilled to have all of the linemen but one on the board with this pick, allowing need to meet value. Last year, Seattle couldn't run the ball or protect Russell Wilson, so improving the line was an absolute must. To me, the pick came down between Bolles and Robinson. Bolles is a guy with great feet, limited experience and problems with power, reminding me of Joeckel. Robinson is a guy with all of the power you'd want in a lineman, but questionable feet for a LT, although he DID play LT for Alabama in the ultra competitive SEC. In Seattle's scheme, he is versatile. He'll get a try at LT, but failing that, he could also fit in well at RT or G, giving them more of the power running game they had a few years back. Think James Carpenter with better feet. If you slid Bolles to RT or inside, I think he'd struggle against big DTs, and ultimately is less of a fit in Seattle's scheme. (bracing to get ripped) Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!

As I just said above I would have taken Feeney, Lamp, or Bolles...just for safety sake. Not sure the reward is any higher than those guys, so why risk the off field questions and on field positional questions in this case. In real life Cam could quite possibly be the only one of those left at this pick, in which case it would get a thumbs up. Quote:Can I give no thumbs? Don't hate it, don't love it. (At least I didn't get the finger) Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!

Quote:Cam Robinson a steal here at this point you think? I just noticed that Cam isn't even in Mayock's top five.

Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
Quote:I just noticed that Cam isn't even in Mayock's top five. True. He feels it's the weakest position of the class in general I believe. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? The Chiefs are now on the clock.
The Chiefs can seriously use an inside linebacker here.

Quote:The Chiefs select Zach Cunningham. One thumb up. Will be interesting to see whether Cunningham or Davis winds up being the second ILB off the board. Cunningham flies around the field and is a tackling machine, but also has one of the worst missed tackle rates and definitely needs to bulk up to play 3-4 ILB. Plenty of potential and fills a major need, though. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Awesome. Almost time for me to make my moves. I'll have mine in though probably by 4:00 PM. Fixing to be off from work.

Oh wait...
Mayock doesn't list Cam in his top 5 OTs because he instead lists him as the #2 OG behind Lamp.

I sense Bullseye is about to post for the Cowboys, so I'll throw in my guess first...

Ok...sorry I took so long.
With the 28th pick of the 2017 Jaguars Message Board Pre Combine Mock Draft, the Dallas Cowboys select... Corey Davis, WR, Western Michigan Rationale: In the interest of full disclosure, i was motivated, in small part by the fact there have been no curve balls during this mock, and I would be interested to see the reaction to something wildly unexpected. That aside, I know Dallas prefers a defensive player with this pick, but under this scenario, Davis is higher rated than any other defensive player on the board. I was also tempted to go TE as an offensive option to groom as the eventual replacement for Witten, but when Howard and the Miami kid went off the board, Davis was the guy when he was still on the board. I think this was a little high for Leggett, and I'm not yet bold enough for the Ashland guy. If the draft actually unfolded in this manner, I think Dallas trades down then takes a defender. Davis pairs with Dez Bryant to give the pokes a lethal 1-2 WR combo. (Flame on!) Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
How the hell does Corey Davis make it to the Cowboys. What a steal. Jerry would have a heart attack
Quote:How the hell does Corey Davis make it to the Cowboys. What a steal. Jerry would have a heart attackI would imagine if Davis wound up in Dallas like that, Green Bay and possibly New England would be [BAD WORD REMOVED]...or at least mildly disappointed. But Feeney would be a great fit in New England. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
