Hundreds of Scientists Say Climate Change Is Not Science, CO2 Is Benign

Quote:Bill Nye isn't a scientist and his "name" implies he is, so yes, I'll gladly use the word fake here. He isn't called Bill Nye the Scientist he's call Bill Nye the "Science Guy". Context is important. None of my high school teachers at Paxon were what you'd call a researcher/scientist but they were highly qualified science educators. I'd say he is a lot more qualified to discuss or even teach science than some lay person like you.
Quote:Well versed = agrees with me. He's taught a generation of kids about the physical properties of matter, chemical elements, electromagnetic radiation, phenomenon such as weather, static electricity, geography, plate tectonics, gravity, the laws of motion, the flow of time, the unique properties of water, climate, super conductivity, black holes and a range of other things. If established science is fake or if being well versed in these thing is somehow a negative then humanity is truly doomed by Flatlanders such as yourself.
Quote:One Volcanic eruption under the right circumstances will send the Earth into another ice age. Only a liberal or a fake scientist would think people are so significant as to change something on a scale that they don't even comprehend. Not one. Unless it was the largest eruption in Earth's history. Now maybe hundreds to thousands of Mt. Pinatubo eruptions going on for a significant length of time (maybe 100s to 1000s of years) could plunge Earth in a Ice Age. Anyway you are truly a Flatlander. In “Denying to the Grave: Why We Ignore the Facts That Will Save Us” (Oxford), Jack Gorman, a psychiatrist, and his daughter, Sara Gorman, a public-health specialist, probe the gap between what science tells us and what we tell ourselves. Their concern is with those persistent beliefs which are not just demonstrably false but also potentially deadly, like the conviction that vaccines are hazardous. Of course, what’s hazardous is not being vaccinated; that’s why vaccines were created in the first place. “Immunization is one of the triumphs of modern medicine,” the Gormans note. But no matter how many scientific studies conclude that vaccines are safe, and that there’s no link between immunizations and autism, anti-vaxxers remain unmoved. (They can now count on their side—sort of—Donald Trump, who has said that, although he and his wife had their son, Barron, vaccinated, they refused to do so on the timetable recommended by pediatricians.) He also is a liar who faked a science experiment to "prove" global warming. But then that just makes him a typical climate "scientist." "Why should I give information to you when all you want to do is find something wrong with it?"
Quote:In “Denying to the Grave: Why We Ignore the Facts That Will Save Us” (Oxford), Jack Gorman, a psychiatrist, and his daughter, Sara Gorman, a public-health specialist, probe the gap between what science tells us and what we tell ourselves. So how does this not apply to you when you refuse to look at the NOAA tide gauge data and admit that NASA (and others) lied about an acceleration in sea level rise? "Why should I give information to you when all you want to do is find something wrong with it?" Quote:He also is a liar who faked a science experiment to "prove" global warming. What's funny, is that it's the climate alarmists are the ones who would be the same warning us all to believe the world is flat. "You better believe me, you're going to die..." attempting to scare the dim into behaving as it they dictate, so as to line their pockets with the riches of fraud. All the while ignoring the bigger picture of life on Earth, all the systems combined that make up our Earth, and how the sun is our planet's thermometer. Now and forever... or at least, until the sun dies and whatever we've done or not done becomes a moot point as Earth and everything on it dies along with it. Guess you can't see that far when you believe the world revolves around yourself, as it does with the fake scientists.

"You better believe me, you're going to die..." attempting to scare the dim into behaving as it they dictate, so as to line their pockets with the riches of fraud. No published paper has used language like "you're going to die..." That is pure hyperbole. The sun is factored into climate models, so are other potential confounders like cloud albedo, distance from the sun, etc etc. You're the same kind of person that hundreds of years ago said that there was no possible way to pollute the ocean due to the sheer volume of water. They were also wrong.
What is interesting is how many of these climate change sceptics are religious.
Quite funny really.
Quote:What is interesting is how many of these climate change sceptics are religious. Climate change believers are far more religious, they just think they aren't. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

Quote:Climate change believers are far more religious, they just think they aren't. You probably doubted the science on smoking too because big tobacco said so and on cfcs. Just a pawn sticking up for big business,.

I saw a piece recently on Discovery Channel I believe, about the solar system. In this show according to NASA, due to the proximity and constant barrage of UV rays from the sun the Earth will eventually look like Venus. The narrator was quite blunt about this information. Also stated the only way to prevent this from happening would be to move the Earth farther from the Sun. I really wish I could have stayed to see the end of the show as the next segment discussed how to move the Earth. Darn work.
Now before you climate change zealots attack me from all sides, I am not saying we should all go pour lead in our water supply because there is no hope and we all are doomed anyway. My question is how much in the grand scheme of things does man have on the overall effect of climate change? It is also difficult to take a climate change advocate like Al Gore serious when he has a carbon footprint of a small town.

At some point you just have to let go of what you thought should happen and live in what is happening.

I really wish I could have stayed to see the end of the show as the next segment discussed how to move the Earth. Darn work. As I've said before the sun is account for in the computer models. I took an environmental modeling class as a undergraduate and we used various equations based on the Laplace Transform equations to model ecosystem. For instance we had problems where given a particular contaminant in a underground storage storage leaking at a rate of X per day, known soil porosity, bulk soil density, depth of contaminant, etc etc we had to determine the differential rate of in contaminant flow if X was applied....that's a really rough example but they use these simulations in all types of fields. Petroleum Engineers and geologists use them frequently to assess the structure, shape, density of the sea floor when drilling. They need to be able to account for wind, pressure, depth, waves, etc etc. What I'm trying to say is that modeling the climate is very similar. Also humans have impacted the Earth in a multitude of ways already...we are large scale ecosystem engineers. We've influenced weather (acid rain and precipitation patterns), disease migration, the permeability of large and expansive areas which affects the flow of water, affected biodiversity on a global scale (plants and animals), various biogeochemical cycles, the ozone layer, the flow of rivers, lakes, and more....so it wouldn't be so naive to think humans cannot affect the Earth in massive ways. I remember reading this a long time ago and thinking "this guy gets it"
In the "Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster", a key "belief" is that global warming is caused by a lack of pirates (not the modern kind, like in Somalia, but the old-timey swashbuckling kind) sailing the oceans. This is shown by a graph correlating increasing surface temperatures of the earth with a decline in the number of pirates.[7] While it is certainly true that piracy has decreased and temperatures have gone up, there is nothing directly connecting the two trends. <i>Or is there?</i>
