For what it's worth, PFF in week 14 ranked Zeitler the #23 best OL in the league last year. Out of all OL positions. For reference, they had Linder ranked #16 and #1 was Redskins LT Trent Williams.

Every time one of the 'why does Dave still have a job' type of threads is created his defenders put Colvin in the hit category. I get that it's tough to find hits to defend Dave with so you might have to grasp at straws like Colvin, but it's a stretch. 

 

I haven't seen anyone do that in a long time actually.  I don't think too many rate Colvin that highly anymore. 

 

I mean - if I guy is a good nickel that's nice and all - and fourth round is a fine place to find one - but when he fails to win the open competition for the #2 spot you can't tout the guy as any real special talent. 

 

Of course - he may surprise us all and win that spot this offseason.  But I really, really doubt that happens.
