Church is still mostly a box safety like Cyp, but he doesn't get totally abused when he has to play deep like Cyp. Small upgrade, but an upgrade indeed.

Church isn't anything special, but he's a solid safety all around. We don't have to worry about him being out there in coverage like you said. I'm just happy the Cyp era is over.

Loved watching Barry Church play with the Cowboys, very excited we landed a key veteran for the secondary.

Cyprien had his best year in the league last year, he's young still, I would have to assume he will continue to get better. As for church I hope he's great but he's older less dominating on the run which is a big part of a SS job. Cyprien probably would've cost too much to keep so I hope church can fill in decently for his price

Because we let him be in the box constantly and never put him in coverage. Those few times we asked him to play in coverage, he was constantly burnt/looked bad.

 

He was not good. He was hidden playing as basically an extra LB.

Eh, can't say I get that line if we just signed Church. Don't get me wrong he's better in coverage than Cyp, but he's more in the box and lays the wood...

Same, as I said many times if they get those players and we add Thomas defense gets elite. And we need that more than a RB.
