If Osweiler lights it up and takes a second rounder from the horns while the horns break the bank for a guy that won't last 5 games, I'd say the football gods are finally starting to smile upon us.  This is a GREAT day!

I am secretly rooting for Cleveland. The just put together a nice OLine and have two 1st rounders, three 2nd rounds, and a ton of other picks. The Browns are in a real good spot.

Quote:Hate to admit it but the Texans just absolutely fleeced the browns. Pulling a rabbit out of their hat to get rid of that ridiculous contract.

I'm guessing we see Romo to the Texans imminently now.

Garrett #1 overall guaranteed now.

More sounds like the Browns used cap money to get a 2nd round pick.  Doesn't sound that dumb to me.

Nothing would please me more than Osweiler turning into an elite QB for the Browns.

Quote:No they didnt. The browns get an extra second round pick to inherit his contract but they have so much money they wont even feel it. They cut him next year with little to no dead money. The texans basically said "well give you a second rounder to hold this guy". Its a win for the browns entirely.
Yup, if it works out for the Browns they have a QB, if not they can dump him and draft another one next year

I couldn't even remember who the Browns starting QB was.  I completely forgot about RGIII.

Brilliant move by the Browns.

GOOO Osweiler.  I'll be so pumped if he turns his career around, and Browns fans, like us, deserve some good fortune!

Quote:It's a waste of money, roster spot, and development of an actual QB.
They have 100mill, they wont feel the 16mill they have to pay him anyway. His contract is gone after this season is over, no dead money. The roster spot is pretty meaningless, and they can bench osweiler all season and not waste any development of whatever QB they prefer. Its a win no matter how you slice it.

Y'all know we play the Browns right? We want the bad as possible so we can have a easy win on our schedule.

Cleveland is GOAT at trades, but can't do a damn thing with the picks.

Quote:The Browns essentially bought a 2nd round pick.

Mike Freeman's humor regarding Jay Cutler earlier today became a reality in Houston and Cleveland. LOL

There is a reason you don't really see that happen very often.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

I'm gonna miss Marks. Hope he does well elsewhere.

We will regret Romo going to the Texans

Quote:They get a 2nd rounder for taking on that contract though. 2nd round picks are valuable.
Didn't see Oswelier's contract. Like many have pointed out they can cut him after the season and have no dead cap. Very interesting.

Browns are having a crazy good FA; especially if Osweiler balls out with them this year.
