They have an enormous amount of money man, they couldnt spend it all in on FA if they tried. They could. They could also rework current contracts for talent that they would want to keep. But I guess if you think your team is good enough to spend 16mil on a second rounder....Go for it.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."
Quote:Or they could simply cut him and give him his guaranteed salary.yeah but why give him anything? We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

Trade cap space for a 2nd this year and a 1st next year. It's the major scientist genius approach. Yet, it gets back to what someone else said recently in this thread that they keep screwing up the picks they end up getting.
Quote:No they didnt. The browns get an extra second round pick to inherit his contract but they have so much money they wont even feel it. They cut him next year with little to no dead money. The texans basically said "well give you a second rounder to hold this guy". Its a win for the browns entirely. I tend to agree. They'll hope for the best this year as they clearly aren't knocked over by this year's QB crop. And who knows - Osweiler perhaps will be better in '17 than he was in '16.

Quote:The guy who has missed 40 games since 2010? I'm not worried. With our luck we'll play the tinhorns in week 1 and lose. Romo will break his back the next week and be healthy just in time beat us again in week 15 or so.

Calais Campbell chose Jaguars because of tom coughlin..
Says he is a winner.. <a class="bbc_url" href='https://www.google.com/amp/www.bigcatcountry.com/platform/amp/2017/3/9/14872810/calais-campbell-chose-jaguars-partly-because-of-tom-coughlin'>https://www.google.com/amp/www.bigcatcountry.com/platform/amp/2017/3/9/14872810/calais-campbell-chose-jaguars-partly-because-of-tom-coughlin</a>
Browns draft picks. 2017: 1,1,2,2,3,4,4,5,5,5,6. 2018: 1,2,2,2,3,4,4,5,6,6,7. 11 picks in each of next two drafts.
Latest rumour is the Browns will eat Osweilers money and try to trade him away... They're also considering cutting him. Wild.
Quote:I tend to agree. They'll hope for the best this year as they clearly aren't knocked over by this year's QB crop.Thing is, Brock doesnt even change their thoughts on this QB class. If they happen to like a QB a lot and hes there at 12 they can have him and have a depth chart of First rounder/Kessler/Brock then dump brock later all the same.

I'm glad to see that nothing has been brought up yet about the Texans trying to go after Bouye. 1 Minute until we can get some ink on some contracts. I'm interested to see the numbers on his contract as well as Albert's.
But will the Browns actually draft good players? Who did they draft last year who had a good year?
