OG Jags Need a Good One

#1

If anyone has a thread on this lemme know and I'll ask for a merge, but I didn't see one.

OK - Who are the guards you would target in the 2nd or 3rd round of the 2017 draft?

If you envision some other method of acquiring a quality starting OG, fill us in on that instead.

Some prospects to consider:

Forrest Lamp

Dan Feeney

Dion Dawkins

Danny Isidora

Nico Siragusa

Isaac Asiata

I'm a big Siragusa guy. He's a road grader and was a big reason why Pumphrey ran for so many yards.

I don't know if Lamp will fall to our 2nd. I like Feeney there.

I would take a guard in the 2nd, tackle in the 3rd, and take another olineman in the 4th. Let's fix this problem already.

nah man, no need to waste first 3 rounds on OG's, they can be obtained via undrafted free agents and put on practice squad to be developed.

Quote:3rd round?
A few weeks ago I would have said definitely but it seems like he will go before that now. Wouldn't be too mad if we traded up from the 3rd if he's there

Lamp is projected in the worst spot for us, late teens/early 20s. Too far to trade down from 4 and too far to trade up from our pick in the 2nd.

Unless we pull a Cleveland and trade back multiple times in the first round...

I think Lamp and Feeney will be gone and I'm not a big fan of any other guard as high as 35, so I'll say RB or TE in the 2nd and anyone off that list in the 3rd happily.

Also option, take Moton and let the too big for many matchups Parnell try guard.

Albert/Cann/Linder/Parnell/Moton doesn't seem too unrealistic to me.

I like Feeney & Dawkins in RD2. If they trade down in RD1 then Bolles makes a lot of sense. Or Lamp. That's the only way we'll land a guy like Bolles or Lamp though. I don't think they make it out of RD1 but No. 4 overall is just too high to pull the trigger on one of them.

Yes, it sucks that there are so many players between 4 and 35 that would be great picks, but none of then are worth #4 and none of them will be there at 35.

I'm of the mind to take a guard in the second if Feeney or Lamp are somehow there.  Otherwise - Wait till the third and take the best one left available.

I'd be into a project tackle later on as well.
