Incorrect, it has been going up since 'helicopter Ben' printed money like there's no tomorrow with Quanitiative Easing. Or as I prefer to call it 'steal from the poor and give to the rich.' Thats the funny thing about Obama, he took more from the poor than any president before him and people think he 'fixed' something.

 

Using the DOW to predict the economy is stupid IMO. Its just as reactive as it is predictive. It will crash again, don't know when but its coming. When stocks are expensive, buy commodities, when stocks are cheap, sell the commodities.

The DOW is slightly up again today.  What is even better is that a certain ETF that I picked up in November that focuses on Aerospace and Defense (ITA) is up even more today.

I jumped into that ETF (ITA) on Nov 7th at around $130 with the thought that it could be a good long term play.  Today it's trading at right around $152.48.  I only wish that I would have bought more than I did.

He he, ITA closed up again today.  Energy, materials and the tech sector of the S&P 500 also did well today as did small caps.

DOW finished up today, though kind of weak.  Look for a slight dip next week when Janet Yeldon announces a rate hike (that would be a buy point for some securities), then watch as the climb resumes.
