So, I've just returned to work having been released to attend a colleagues funeral.

Such a sad yet happy occaision, weirdly. So many people there to celebrate his life, it made me so proud to work with all of these people.

There were over 100 people in the guard of honour on each side.. whilst the service was taking place, there were 90 of us outside as there was nowhere near enough seats for us all!

Days like today make me reflect on things and thankful for what I have.

Here's my mushy post for the day.

For our 1st I took her favorite picture of us from the wedding, ran it through a pencil sketch filter in PS, and had it framed on canvas. She still talks about it to this day.

Personally, I like the "your favorite beer" suggestion...but what do I know, I'm divorced.

So, I’m not going to dwell on my own siblings, because this isn’t about them.  But I found out about this from a Facebook post.  None of my six other brother and/or sisters picked up the [BAD WORD REMOVED] phone to tell me.

I saw on Facebook that my niece had died at 40 years of age.  When my wife and I called to offer condolences to my brother, I found out that she had committed suicide.

I would never say that I agree with suicide, but I can’t say that I don’t understand.  Poor girl had a rare nerve disorder where she had been in constant pain for over 25 years.  She had chronic asthma and was allergic to so many foods she never knew she was allergic until she accidentally ate something that she was unaware she was allergic to.  Most often, it would send her to the ER.

It’s been very difficult for my brother and his wife (obviously) as they are both very religious people, but they think she probably just couldn’t take the pain anymore.  They found her when they got home from work on Friday.

Please keep Cindy in your prayers.  She was a good kid that led an extremely difficult life.

Sorry for bringing this gloom to this goofy thread.
