Capital One Bowl

Clowney had a great game. Had something like 4 passes defended.

Clowney is a more athletic quick twitch version of JJ Watt, he's just as strong with better explosion off the LOS. Watt is incredibly athletic but Clowney is from another planet, if he works hard at his craft he's a sure fire hall of famer.
Quote:You could very well be right. Mort was saying yesterday that he doesn't think Teddy nor Johnny fit Bill O'Briens typical QB mold. He likes a tall and physical ability. Hopefully Mort is correct If the Texans don't take Bridge (which would shock me) then they will trade out of the pick and someone else will take Bridge there. This is not a case where The Texans are going to take Clowney #1 overall. I just cannot see that happening.
I'd take Shaw in the 4th or 5th. I like him a lot and this game proved how much of a gamer he is. Impressive.

LEONARD FOURNETTE FAN CLUB PRESIDENT. I WAS BEHIND HIM WHEN YOU ALL SAID HE WAS BRANDON JACOBS. QUIT HATING ON THE JAGUARS. GUS IS GONE. COUGHLIN HAS RESTORED ORDER. FOURNETTE IS FRED TAYLOR. DONT BELIEVE ME JUST WATCH.

Teddy isnt the guaranteed number 1 pick, he could get there after the sr bowl and combine but right now he is not, like I said before Houston has picked a DE over the other hyped players number 1 in the past

I just don't see it. If I had my way, the Texans would take Clowney at 1 and sign Jay Cutler to a huge money deal in the offseason. This way they have terrible leaders on both sides of the ball.

They suck because they have no QB. They will take a QB. Don't be delusional. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
This is going to make the work of the conspiracy theorists rather difficult. There are only two worthy players in the entire draft according to them, and one will likely fall to the Jags. How in the world will they keep the sky falling?
What lies behind us, and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.

How in the world will they keep the sky falling? Manziel did his best to make that 3. To answer the question though, I could easily see Clowney falling to the Jags pick, and then the Jags taking him, and then the motivation issues continuing in the NFL and then bust. .... (again, just to answer the question) Quote:Manziel did his best to make that 3.But if another team takes him, the Jags messed up. Am I doing this right?

Quote:But if another team takes him, the Jags messed up. Actually I just posted like 10 min ago that if I had my way, The Texans would screw up by both taking Clowney at 1 and compounding that mistake with signing Cutler to a huge money deal, thus giving them bad leadership on both sides of the ball.
Quote:How does signing jay cutler and clowney make JJ watt a bad leader? Obviously it was meant for Clowney (on that side of the ball) . But point taken. That said, I think the scenario I presented is the best scenario for the Jaguars if you want us to have the best opportunity to catch pass them in a few years. The Texans will pass us next season regardless. But after that, with Cutler I could see a regression from that point forward.
Oh I agree thats the best option! I just don't subscribe that all good players are meant to be leaders. Much like Blackmon.

I don't want Clowney OR Bridgewater. I think Bridgewater is good, but I think he won't hold up in the NFL. Just my opinion. I wouldn't draft Clowney either. After hearing Marco Coleman talk about him, I agree that there's to many risks. I trust Coleman too. He was a very successful defensive lineman in the NFL for years.

Whatever happened to Evans last night? He's the only reason Manziel is any good. He is constantly being bailed out by him. Remember those posts?
Quote:Which erases weeks of posts about how the Jags "won" themselves out of any good player? Johnny Manziel helped erase that. He played himself up into the top 3 and a worthwhile pick. |
