Clowney is a more athletic quick twitch version of JJ Watt, he's just as strong with better explosion off the LOS. Watt is incredibly athletic but Clowney is from another planet, if he works hard at his craft he's a sure fire hall of famer.

If the Texans don't take Bridge (which would shock me) then they will trade out of the pick and someone else will take Bridge there. This is not a case where The Texans are going to take Clowney #1 overall. I just cannot see that happening.

Personally I am hoping the Texans take Clowney at 1. I just don't see it. 

 

If I had my way, the Texans would take Clowney at 1 and sign Jay Cutler to a huge money deal in the offseason. This way they have terrible leaders on both sides of the ball. :yes:

Actually I just posted like 10 min ago that if I had my way, The Texans would screw up by both taking Clowney at 1 and compounding that mistake with signing Cutler to a huge money deal, thus giving them bad leadership on both sides of the ball.

Obviously it was meant for Clowney (on that side of the ball) . But point taken. 

 

That said, I think the scenario I presented is the best scenario for the Jaguars if you want us to have the best opportunity to catch pass them in a few years. The Texans will pass us next season regardless. But after that, with Cutler I could see a regression from that point forward.

I don't want Clowney OR Bridgewater. I think Bridgewater is good, but I think he won't hold up in the NFL. Just my opinion.

 

I wouldn't draft Clowney either. After hearing Marco Coleman talk about him, I agree that there's to many risks. I trust Coleman too. He was a very successful defensive lineman in the NFL for years.
