WE were talking about total package. Nobody was talking to you Glock.  When your off the field problems keep you from playing, that is a on the field problem, just like Justin Blackmon, all his talent doesn't mean jack because he is not on the field. That is part of the total package, that is why these things are taken into account in the draft process, that is why he is not a first round pick no matter how much you want to look past it.

We aren't drafting Mixon anyways.

Its a public forum, none of these conversations are closed or private so it doesnt really matter if you were talking to me or not. I never said he was a first round pick, I never tried to look past his off the field issues. I specifically quoted you about his off the field issues. No one had brought up anything but playing ability, so when you said his total package only gets him drafted in the third thats framing it in a manner that implied his playing abilities arent good enough and the off the field incidents arent being accounted for since there was no precedent to infer them in the first place.

I didn't bring up total package, someone else did, I didn't frame anything, I was talking about the total package. Please leave me alone, im blocking you, tired of you in thread after thread arguing about nothing.

What I said was the entire package clearly referencing Fournette's on the field spectrum of work. You turned entire package into hammering on one portion of a completely different player. Obviously any conversation about Mixon or Cook (or any other serious off field concerning player) comes with the caveat that the front office doesn't have the player off their boards.

If Mixon is on the Jags board, then his on field "entire package" is better than Fournette's. Comfortably.

You're the one who brought Mixon up, not me, but yeah I could see that, on the field, I could see how some teams could like him more. I think it boils down mostly to how you value Fournette and what you see there.

Isn't this a Adrian Peterson thread? we're all over the map.

8 is too much imo. I don't think anyone is going to take him up on that. Maybe 4-5.

If I'm Coughlin, then I'd pay 10 million for him to play. I'd offer 20 million for 2 years. Along with incentives.

Something like 1200 yards, pro bowl, playoffs, top 3 in rushing, play in all 16 games.

Then I would fully guarantee every penny. We have absolutely nothing to lose. We had many years that we didn't have to resign any draft picks and hardly any star free agents wanted to come to Jacksonville. So I'd do it.

If he wants 8 million, but a team says he's only worth 4-6 millions, then I wouldn't let 2 or 4 million bucks come between the potential of having a 1200 yard running back go to another team.

He falls under the Tony Romo train of thought. He's only worth it if he stays healthy and he hasn't played much in the last few seasons. But at the beginning of each season, everything starts fresh. Clean slate. Injuries are in the past and everybody is healthy now.

We won 3 games. So overpaying 4 million bucks is not beneath me. That's all I'm saying. 8 million bucks won't make or break us.

What a waste of money that would be.

Yeah, I agree. Let's keep hiding all of our money under the bed and keep sitting on a 3-12 record.

You're going to pay more than market rate for a 32 year old running back who's played 20 game the last 3 season including IR almost all last year with a bad knee. Brilliant!

Clearly we're missing out on this hot property since every other team in the league is rushing to pay him before we do.

AP to the Pats that is.

If this happens they better get out the pitchforks in Boston and refuse to buy tickets in protest of the player who whipped his defenseless child and left visible wounds on him. The PR backlash better be swift and just and long lasting.

At least that's what the Mixon thread would indicate.

There's no video of the Peterson incident. Also, AP is just old school when it comes to whippin. It isn't right how severely he did it, but it is different. Many of us grew up getting whipper to where it left visible marks. We didn't end up in surgery for 8 hours and nobody cared. The standard has changed and AP is behind the times.

There were pictures of the aftermath. I think anyone can envision how a hulking AD and a small child encounter that ends with those wounds would appear on video. Hell it would probably look worse since it was repeatedly beating of the defenseless child with a weapon and not just a one punch and run reaction.

I was also told there were zero excuses to hit a skinny 110 lb blonde woman, zero. That should also apply to a 40 lb child I would think.

I'm just playing devil's advocate, but I can't fathom how one person would try to make an excuse for one while also taking a hard line against the other. Either human beings deserve another chance after inflicting severe physical harm to a far smaller and helpless person or they don't.

BB will ensure any incentive based money won't be earned with RB by committee. If AP is hoping for a cash grab, which any aging RB should be, NE is NOT the place for him.
