Caldwell accidently let slip team is targeting defense at 4?

Ha ha that be another correct prediction.
If we drafted Lattimore. I was the first to say it. If truly going all in with Blake. Have to give him every way to succeed. So grabbing lattimore would mean that. A stout secondary, great lbs, and a nice front line. Can't run on us or can't pass on us. Now all Blake would have to do is score some points.

The interesting thing from the linked Clayton/DC interview was DC explaining Calais Campbell. He mentions him playing inside and also big end. But then goes on to emphasize his value, along with Malik, in providing an inside rush. It sounded to me that he moves inside on nickel defense. In my mind, it raises the odds to take a player like Thomas or Allen, as someone will need to play the big end spot when Campbell moves inside.
What Tom said there means absolutely nothing He was just making conversation.
I've been saying Jonathan Allen for a while now, but him saying this doesn't make it any more so. The pick could EASILY be Fournette.

This has been my guess of how they'd use him since before he signed. https://jungle.jaguars.com/index.php?/to.../?p=977560 Strong end on base and DT next to Malik in nickel. However - we're talking about Campbell inside on nickel, so they'd have Fowler at strong end when Campbell kicks inside. They don't necessarily need someone for that spot. Quote:yeah i get that. but broncos also have von miller rushing the passer. Colvin is serviceable enough to play nickel. we don't need to go wasting a high draft pick (hopefully our last high draft pick in a while) on someone that is going to be covering the 3rd best receiver. And then come time, we won't resign both Ramsey and Lattimore Disagree. Colvin is another drug test pop from a 10+ game suspension. Draft Latimore in the 1st round and continue to make the defense better. The remaining picks should/could go all offense after that. #33

The problem with the Latimore pick is both he and Ramsey are going to command BIG 2nd contracts (you would think) and that would be a lot of money to tie up at the same position. Sign me up for Hooker. Dudes going to be a stud.

Quote:Ive watched lattimore has bust written all over himWhy do you say that? Just curious.
Spending 2 top 5 picks and a big contract on a FA in 2 years would be overkill. If we're going to go DB, I'd go Hooker and get a true ball hawking FS. Gipson certainly disappointed last year. Of course, that could change with new leadership.

Quote:Ive watched lattimore has bust written all over him Lattimore is one of the safer picks in this draft, explosive, great feet, and incredibly fluid/loose hips. He reminds of a bigger version of Jason Verrett. I think he'll be a great pro capable of shadowing even the most twitched up receivers.
I see us taking a DE or a DT over a corner.. Maybe even a S
New Jersey Jaguars fan.
There's no such thing as someone letting something slip accidentally this time of year. None of these guys are going to tip their hands as to what they're doing in the draft, so if you honestly think he let something slip there, I've got a bridge I'd love to sell you.
Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Quote:smokescreen effect for what?? No team is about to trade up over 4 for a running back which is the only offensive position we'd take at 4.Teams can trade up for any player, not just for players we might draft, they might want to jump a team or cant work out a trade with other teams but went to get up there for a player they are targeting. But its sounds more like he is saying we have the 4th pick so if we want we can add another defensive player

Is that too much money to tie up at the same area? Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!

CB is not a position to be going in the top 5, we have other holes, CB might be out strongest spot on the team right now, WR prob is better

Plenty of teams have gone CB top 5 and have been rewarded handsomely for it. Now we probably WON'T go CB at 4, to be clear. Just trying to logically make the distinction between investing a lot of capital at DL vs DB. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
