I like how the first paragraph of the article talks about the osweiler trade being a mistake for the browns but everyone on here called the browns geniuses. Lol
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."
"4. Jaguars – RB Leonard Fournette: Everybody and their brother has the Jags taking a safety here, but they’ve invested hugely on defense in both free agency and the draft the last two years and it’s time to get Blake Bortles more help. While their young franchise QB slipped in 2016 he showed some great traits in ’15 and nothing takes pressure off a QB like a franchise back and Fournette appears to be the real deal. The Jags would like to go O-line here but the value just isn’t there."
They do? ![]()

Quote:I like how the first paragraph of the article talks about the osweiler trade being a mistake for the browns but everyone on here called the browns geniuses. LolI have a problem with people calling the Texans geniuses in all of this. They were the ones who made the mistake of signing Osweiler to a huge deal in the first place. They were the ones who had to pay a team a 2nd round pick to take his contract off their books. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
Quote:This does not appear to be a good mock draftPutting a QB in the top 3 is part of what throws this off. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
Quote:Putting a QB in the top 3 is part of what throws this off. I was more surprised by the QB mocked, than whether or not a QB was chosen at 2.

Quote:I have a problem with people calling the Texans geniuses in all of this. The original osweiler deal was definitely awful but it was a work of art getting a team to take that.

LolThe writer clearly doesnt understand the trade if hes saying they "didnt realize" they were taking on 16 million. Theres really no argument against the trade at all. I'm not even going to argue with you about this again because you're a moron with preconceived notions so believe what you will.

The guy who says everyone and their brother has the Jags taking a safety is also wrong about the Browns being geniuses for buying a high value draft pick with cap space? Crazy.
Quote:The original osweiler deal was definitely awful but it was a work of art getting a team to take that.By giving up a 2nd round pick?!? According to Casserly, there is a 50% chance of a 2nd round pick becoming a starter. Picks are used to acquire talent, not get rid of it. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
Quote:By giving up a 2nd round pick?!?Yeah IF that pick becomes a starter, they're gonna wind up paying about 22 million as opposed to the normal about 6 million that a second rounder would make. So they might have got an extra contributor out of it but it's also costing them a load of money that they could have used to lock up other free agents and restructure or extend current contracts. Chris ivory is a starter and these same savants praising the browns for essentially wasting money, on the flip side condemn Caldwell for wasting money on ivory. People rationalize and justify whatever they want to fit their agenda.

Quote:Yeah IF that pick becomes a starter, they're gonna wind up paying about 22 million as opposed to the normal about 6 million that a second rounder would make. If we are talking about a cash strapped team I'd buy into your argument but the Browns have more money than they were going to spend anyways this year...so the point kind of becomes moot. Who would they need to resign this year that this trade no longer gives them the opportunity to? As far as signing free agents, money didn't seem to be and issue as much as players not wanting to go there...like Tony Jefferson.
Quote:Yeah IF that pick becomes a starter, they're gonna wind up paying about 22 million as opposed to the normal about 6 million that a second rounder would make. They had enough money to get more free agents if they wanted to, that 16 mill didnt prevent them from getting anyone. And who needed to be extended? They have like 5 good players on their team. And with the money they still have who on their team is out of their price range for an extension? On top of all that, Brocks contract comes off after this year, get that money back with no long term harm done to their cap and they have an extra high pick to go with it. Quote:If we are talking about a cash strapped team I'd buy into your argument but the Browns have more money than they were going to spend anyways this year...so the point kind of becomes moot. Ok. I see what you're saying and that would be one logical argument. Even though I don't agree, I understand the logic. The problem is that the same people that praise them for wasting money, admonish the jaguars for doing the same thing. These people have an agenda and they're skewing information to promote said agenda. That's the issue.
