Seahawks edge out the game, 49-6.
With that score I don't see it being an "edge" game unless the Seahawks scores 42 points in the last 5 minutes of the game...

Looking at some of the scoring predictions on here for the game...I just don't see it... the Jags had a real hard time scoring 9 points on the Raiders defense...now we are talking about one of, if not the best defense in the NFL... how in the world does the Jags offense even come close to scoring on them...

Unless the Seahawks call off the dogs in the first quarter, and I don't see that happening, there's no way this offense scores on their 1st team defense...

28-0 by the half, Hawks. They rest all starters second half. Final score 28-7

edit; Their 2nd's on offense can probably score as well, amend prediction 35-7

As a side note, given that Henne is a soft and injury prone sort how many INTs do you think he throws before he's knocked out of the game?

I'm thinking 3 or 4, but also he could get knocked out after only 1 or 2 with how bad the o-line has been.

I don' really see Henne as soft or injury prone... no more than Blaine is...there's not to many QB's that wouldn't be considered injury prone playing behind the Jags OL right now

Now to your point of INT's...a lot depends on this in my opinion... playing from behind like the Jags have had to do in their first two game...I'm already a little surprised that both Gabbert and Henne haven't throwed a few INT's at this point... I don't think 1 or two is out of the question but I just don't see 3-4...

He never played a full season in Miami.

At the time he played in Miami their OL was just as bad as the Jags... the last two years Blaine hasn't made it a full season either... so I really don't see the point of this...

Why do you keep bringing up Gabbert?

We're talking about Henne and whether he lasts long enough against the Seahawks to throw 3 or 4 INTs or if he goes down early thanks to the terrible Jags o-line.

Quote:This game reminds me of Buddy Ryan's first season (as head coach) when he had a rebuilding team and headed into Chicago (his former team) on the road, in week 2 of the 1986 season. The Eagles were huge underdogs as expected but fought and scrapped for their head coach as they knew the game would be emotional for him. That Eagles team got destroyed in their opener vs Washington much like the Jags got destroyed by Kansas City.

The Eagles played very hard for Ryan that day and wound up barely losing to Chicago in overtime, 13-10.

Its a very similar situation here with Gus Bradley going back to Seattle for this game.

How the Jags play in this game I think will tell a lot about how much this team feels for their current head coach.

I think the Jags will rise to the occasion and play hard for Bradley, despite being overwhelming 20 point underdogs.

Jaguars 13

Seattle 17

P.S. nice to see a new board so I can post again to the main forum without driver errors!!!!!

Yeah, I am not as optimistic as you are my friend. They went 8 - 0 last season at home. Just set the record for being the loudest stadium ever recorded. And they just held a SB contending football team to 3 points that are VASTLY more superior than any talent we have on this roster right now. When you add in the fact that historically this team has played like garbage on the West Coast, and this being in year's past where we actually had a competitive and more experienced roster, yeah, 17 to 13? I am thinking more like 45 to 6. Wouldn't even be surprised if they hit the 50 mark. I think Henne throws 3 INT's in this game, one will be a pick-six. Lynch is going to go bonkers on our putrid run defense, and we'll be lucky if we see anything past the 50 yard line much like when we had to grit our teeth thru in the season opener.

You cry about Blaine for practically a week and now you don't wanna talk about him? Stay Classy San Diego

I remember a Jaguars/Lions game years ago.  It was so bad the Lions QB started kneeling right after the snap.  We might see it again this week.    I hope not!

You guys are the ones that keep bringing him up.

Now back on topic, how many picks from Henne this weekend and does he get injured and leave the game before he gets to throw as many as he likely would if he were in for the whole game?

Zero picks from Henne... Plays the whole game... Throws for 400 yards and 5 TD's and we win
