New CBS Mock-Brugler

#1

The plot thickens.

This mock is the first I've seen in ages that has a T going top ten.

However, this one has Ramczyk going to the Chargers at 7.

If Ramczyk is truly a top 10 pick, do you take him at 4?

Worst to 1st.  Curse Reversed!

I would take OT at 4 (I think Bolles is > Ramczyk but that's not the point) if the only choice is OT or Allen, but not over Howard or Lattimore or Hooker.

I'd not be shocked by the Jags taking their highest rated tackle at #4, but I don't think it's really the best value to be had there.

It would probably just mean that they don't like the RB value at 4, they think good DBs will be available later, they don't trust Allen's medical report that early, and Coughlin made this face when Caldwell mentioned OJ Howard with their early pick:

I said a while back it wouldn't surprise me to see the Jaguars take a T at 4. Like I expected they're shooting up the boards.

Most draft classes usually have a T or two with top 5-10 grades.

Most draft classes usually have a guy who shoots up the boards relatively late in the process.

But it's rare to have a T rise up so late.

I think Ramcyzk is a good prospect. Better than the others in my opinion.

Ramczyk is not a difference maker, and would be a significant reach in the top 10.  Given the Jags traded for Albert and are paying him well, I just don't see taking Ramczyk at pick 4.

If he represents the highest rated player on your board and you need a player at that position, you try and trade down a little to get him, but if you can't, just select him. I certainly wouldn't be disappointed if we took Ramczyk at #4. He'd fill an immediate need at RT and would then be able to move to LT when we're finished with Albert.

I there is a LT who is significantly better than Albert, then maybe.

Is there though?

I believe Ramczyk is given Albert's age and injury history.

The pick has to be either Solomon Thomas or Jonathan Allen. Both are legitimate top 5 picks and present the best value for the Jaguars. The only way they don't do this is if they get a trade offer from Cleveland that's too good to pass up.

You're last sentence says it all because the answer is no.

He's not "truly a top 10 pick." In this mock, the Chargers are clearly reaching because their OL is that much of a mess.

Simply put, there are just too many questions with his game to take at #4. The risk of bust is just too great. Heck, Joekel was a bust and he didn't really even have questions about his game.
