Realistic trade scenarios?

#1

Simple question - are there any realistic scenarios that would allow us to trade down and pick up extra picks?

The only player I believe anyone might trade up to four for is Fournette (if they believe he's a superstar who is a LOT better than the other RBs on offer) and even that is a bit far fetched.

Plus, why would anyone trade with us when they can deal with the Titans instead, knowing they won't pick a RB or QB (because they are set at both)?

A trade up for Allen maybe? That's about all I can think, because the QBs aren't going high this year.

Any other possible scenarios?

There are plenty of players teams might trade up for, we have no idea what player every team is targeting, and its about 5 or 6 top 5 prospects

Carolina wanting Fournette makes sense. We could trade with them and take Howard.

How can there be 6 top 5 prospects?

Meaning 6 different players could go in the top 5

This sounds crazy but if Cleveland isn't sold on any of these QBs:

Draft Garrett at 1

Trade the #12 pick, the #33 pick, and the 6th round 185 pick to Jacksonville to move up to #4

Draft Allen/Solomon if they are there.

That would set up their defensive line in a very good way if they aren't loving the QBs. One of the 2nd tier QBs will still be there at R2P20 for the Browns.

Jacksonville could move back to 12, get Forrest Lamp

#33, Jacksonville takes Dan Feeney

#35 Jacksonville takes a falling Dalvin Cook.

So give us a few scenarios then... Who are the players someone might trade to four for? And which teams are likely to be in the mix?

I think our 2nd round pick will receive a good few trade offers. Its kind of positioned well for where a top Oline guy or pass rusher will be if they fall out of the first.

Its not too costly for teams to move up in the 2nd, we might get an extra 4th or so from it and still get our guy.

I've been jumping on the Howard bandwagon pretty hard recently myself. I'd love Fournette at 4 but I'd also love grabbing Howard at 8. The additional pick or two makes me want the trade more.

Thats really, IMO, all we need is an extra 2nd somehow someway.  If we can pick up OL and RB in rd 2 thats a win-win for me

If only JagsFanJay were the GM of the Browns. Then we could trade him a ham sandwich for the first pick and get Garrett.

Or...

We could then combine the #33 and #35 in order to trade back into round one with the very nex pick at #13.

What could we do with both the #12 and #13 picks?

How often do you see teams with back-to-back picks in round one. That's two prime players. I'm thinking Howard and McCaffery.

If the price is not too steep, I could see a team falling in love with a targeted QB, and moving up to secure the player.  QBs always seem to get "bid up" the closer you get to the draft.  "Franchise QBs...if you don't got one, you'll do anything at the chance to have one".

The only trade I can see happening would be with the Browns.  Browns move up to 4 and we get 12 and 33.

12. OJ Howard

33. Best OL available

35. D'onta Foreman

That makes sense to me too. I think it depends who you want to get. I am most worried about the O line. If we found a way to rig it up so we walk away with the two top guards in the draft and decent running back, I would be so pleased.

Teams could easily fall in love with one of the Safeties too or even Lattimore and wanna trade up with us. We'll get offers, the key is not to ask for too much in return.

I think most teams are comfortable using the draft pick value chart. That's pretty standard procedure at this point.
