I've gone back and forth over the issue over the last while.

Should punching a women when you are 18 prevent you from ever participating in society again?

Nope. But it should prevent you from being drafted into a league of professional, millionaire athletes that are typically looked at as role models by young children all over America.

People make mistakes. Joe Mixon is close to being rewarded after not being properly punished for his, and it's out there for everyone to see.

The best football team in the last 15 or so years has taken him off their draft board, like the title indicates. I'm glad to be on their side on this one. You guys can think whatever, but I'm done because it's obviously a disagreement in fundamentals, which is ok. I just think you're all weird for it. Alas, agree to disagree.

Tyreek Hill pled guilty to domestic abuse in 2014 when he choked his pregnant GF.... Apparently no one cares anymore.

Mixon will be drafted and people will soon forget with him too.

Why? The only people who dictate who gets into the league are the GMs and Owners, and a lot of them seem willing to give him a second chance...the pats don't due to Kraft's strong anti-violence against women stance, and that's fine too.

What he did was awful but I don't think it'd bad enough that he deserves to lose his dream over it.

Quote:What, KY doesn't believe in branding so you don't either? I was being facetious, but since everyone already knows you love grasping at straws and derailing threads with your ridiculous arguments around here, I'll try and get us back on track.

That chick probably has a permanent fixture on her face from the surgery from that punch. If people can be so bold as to suggest Joe Mixon served acceptable punishment and is now OK to be drafted and eventually serve as a role model to kids, then I don't feel too particularly bad in feeling like guys that break women's faces for any reason, other than maybe getting shot at or robbed or something along those lines, should be punished to the extreme.

And flsports, no need to look up fancy words up in your dictionary before calling me a bigot again. I get it.
I didnt know not being pro-branding was exclusive to KY, I thought that was just a regular thought process of most people.

I was wondering what your thoughts on the Jaguars potentially drafting Leonard Fournette at 4 were Tongue

I literally thought you would say that! It's funny, because I thought the only way you could provide your typical glock answer was to go back to the branding.

Not gonna happen here sir. I'll just concede right now and let you have whatever weird victory you're in search of.

I personally hate the fact that this man is being raked over the coals for hitting someone back that attacked him first. No one ever brings the fact up that this woman hit him first.

If Mixon never responded to the incident with force that woman would have gotten away scot free of any charges and not  a peep would be heard from the media about the incident

I mean, I disagree. I think what he did was bad enough to be incarcerated for many years, let alone even bothering to discuss his NFL opportunities. There's that fundamental disagreement thing.

Edit: youre right. Owner to owner, person to person, we're all gonna have different opinions on this one I suppose. I can accept that. Doesn't make me a bigot btw, flsprtswad.

Just like any profession, if you're good at what you do, someone will always be willing to employ you.

That's the reality of the world we live in, whether that's considered right or wrong is up to us.

guy said mixon should be branded and apparently thinking thats an archaic punishment that doesnt have a place in a modern society is an opinion i couldnt possibly have come up with on my own.

Poor guy. I bet his feelings were hurt....not quite like a shattered face, but still I bet it really upset him.

It probably explains why he threw a ticket into that parking attendant's face. Just still distraught from all those meanies giving him a tough time about breaking a lady's face.

Either you think someone deserve a second chance or you don't.

The amount of money he will possibly make is irrelevant to the argument.

I don't think the kid gives a damn that he did it. His responses after the fact made that evident.

That said, it shouldn't keep him from future employment on hopefully some team other than the Jags.
